Big personal news: I built an iPhone app, and as of this weekend it's live on the App Store.
It's called GeoJSONic. Back in January I got lost hiking off-trail in the Arizona desert — no signal, every map app useless, a cactus stuck in my hand. I found my way out and decided to build the app I wished I'd had.
It's a journal for the places in your life. Make a note wherever you're standing — it remembers the spot, the elevation, even the weather at that moment. Add photos, record your voice, track a run or a drive or a hunt.
It works with zero cell signal, and everything stays on YOUR phone. No account. No cloud. Nobody's data center.
The journal part is completely free. If you want to see your whole life on a 3D globe, that part's a subscription with a free first month.
It got rejected by Apple four times before they let it through. But it's out, and it's real!

Why I Don’t Use Comet Browser: No Homepage Setting

Not being able to set a homepage is a deal breaker for me. This basic feature, found in every major browser, is essential for convenience and productivity. Workarounds like pinned tabs just don’t cut it.

I like Perplexity and even used it to write this, but removing such a standard feature in Comet is not a good look. Browser developers: don’t take away the fundamentals!
