@NoeckerRyan you think that athletes will be able to personally market their nicknames? So an increase in personal athlete brands could be a trend? I like that, def helps the entrepreneur aspect for athletes more than ever before #srm3227
@dr_marshmallow Twitch could partner with brands, or in general become the official streaming partner to a league, or even have brands sponsor teams, similar to the way NASCAR does, then jersey patches etc.. so the sky is the limit for marketers, if there is money they will market #srm3227
I also believe it gets more difficult for sport marketers as the future unfolds, considering how many options there could be for streaming, there could be a real unknown on what is a successful way to market #srm3227
@Rylee67252462 @NoeckerRyan for sure Ry, the more money fans have on a game, regardless of the teams or event, the more fans will be consuming, especially if you wager heavily #srm3227
@DanielDesher didnt even think of this, but definitely will have a huge impact on marketers, depending upon how sports is consumed will have a major effect on how it is marketed to those consumers #srm3227
I think we will see more teams and leagues try to start their own e-sports franchises, so much room to grow as legit pioneers of the industry, def a lottttt of money to be made #srm3227
I also think that the way companies activate their in game sponsorship will change. If a company sponsors an entire quarter, or segment if a game then it would be commercial free, and also raises price of marketing during games #srm3227
In terms of existing advertising ideas that will probably continue, commercials split screen w/ game action,so we never leave the broadcast, but marketers still advertise their product #srm3227
@dr_marshmallow i dont think it effects sports like tennis, swimming, or golf nearly as much as it would contact sports. At least these sports have "less" safety concerns than football or hockey, so they can market other ways, rather than have to harp on safety #srm3227
@AaronGross91 @NoeckerRyan the ratings thing is overblown just because of the multiple different ways it can be viewed, but the trend the league should be concerned about is that the numbers are down, meaning they may have reached their peak, and have only one way to go on the product life cycle #srm3227
