Hey @crunchlabs our kids are loving their subscription, and we are thrilled to see them understand, build, and use these fun tools! The trip line launcher has been a hit. After they got me coming home through a door, they got the cat with a trick pillow (video attached)!
Couldn't be prouder of this young lady! Here with Anna & Dr. Emily Fox. As all who help teens with chronic pain know, it takes a village! @ChildrensMercy has a great pain clinic (@CMHPain) and an intensive interdisciplinary program when needed (PT, OT, music, art, yoga, etc)!
"I heard the four words from Doctors Hoffart and Wallace that I had been longing to hear: your pain is real." Anna recently completed our RAPS (Rehabilitation for Amplified Pain Syndrome) Program! She wrote about her experience, connecting it to the perils of Odysseus.
Music therapy helps stress and anxiety for teens participating in intensive treatment for chronic pain. We should give these kids all the support we can! @SPPDiv54@CMHPain@ChildrensMercy
Like many pain treatment programs, we utilize techniques to promote both psychological flexibility and self-compassion. It's nice to see thoughtful research address the overall similarities, as well as to tease out some of the distinctions of these constructs. @CMHPain
Yes, definitely check out the posters! Twitter is a great way to showcase our research. Please like, comment on and retweet to let these presenting authors know you saw their work! #SPPAC2020
@alex_monzon89 Great work Alex - I love all the attention to how parents are doing. We all know the importance of parents in the lives of all kids, and they take a large burden when their kids have chronic health issues!
Good advice, and nicely written. When you or someone you care about is going through tough times, aim comfort toward those closer to the center of the struggle, and seek your own comfort from those further out. #comfortin#dumpout
It typically takes about 17 years for good medical research to change care. Even then, most of the research (even e-health research) never even makes it into clinical practice. @DrCChambers addresses solutions at todayโs grand rounds @ChildrensMercy@CMHPain
Excited to announce the launch of WebMAP mobile - a free evidence-based mobile app for teens with chronic pain. Learn more at https://t.co/62ABcDL8gg
The app was developed @seattlechildren by Dr. @TonyaPalermo and @2MorrowInc.

Kids with chronic illness struggle beyond just health stressors. To help them function fully, Dr. Carter uses the CHIRP program to target physical, academic, interpersonal, and stress management. #APA2019#PedsPsych@SPPDiv54
Kids with chronic pain have greater risk of disordered eating, and itโs not just those with abdominal pain! Great to be at #APA2019, and to see so much #PedPsych material. @SPPDiv54@CMHPain
