My parents came to this country on J-1 VISA. My dad did residency in NY and spent five years doing primary care in MTG’s district in North Georgia. Both my parents still work in the south. Their daughter is going to be a cardiac surgeon.
That’s the dream. It should be possible
Rant/ When I started this journey 13 years ago I really didn’t think I’d be a 31 year old MD that was unemployed and struggling to find a job. With only one year of residency under my belt (prelim) I’m either too qualified for some jobs or under qualified for most.
It’s been a hard week, this time last year I was celebrating, and after 8 months of gruelling work during my prelim year it was gut wrenching to find out I didn’t match. Nevertheless, I’m not going to give up. I will be the surgeon I have always aspired to be. #Match2025
Didn’t match after a prelim surgery year and I’m on a J1 visa. This has been one of the hardest days of my life. What’s worse is that there’s no time to process or deal with it, onwards to soap. #Match2025
