@ZegrasTrevor I was critical of PV, Leo, and matching. As fans, I think we have to move on now, just like I expect from the players and management. PV is a great drafter, controversially selected Q and hopefully beyond hope he has learned some humility from the owners and this situation
@AnaheimDucks I was critical of PV, Leo, and the match. Has to be said now though this was the better fit for Leo, his personality at this aav wouldnt work in Philly Lets move some players sign Cutter high and hope fans/team/mgmt let bygones be bygones for the team #flytogether
@EricEngels It’s a long shot to say the least; move all vatrano/killorn/kreider; sign cutter to something as high as possible re Leo; hope for perfect development of Elcs and Leo/cutter and hope for a couple team friendly deals whenever the cup competitive window opens
@ZachCav I have been critical of PV and Leo for this process but this was the best result for Leo, personality didn’t match with Philly fans. I guess we hope for as much cap space as possible and hope Cutter and Leo can defy all the odds these next 5 years #flytogether
@NHL_Muse I am critical of the match but there’s a lot of potential here and our d was shocking last year anyway; how we are going to make the forward lines better than last year is anyone’s guess
@ZachCav The ducks should really be attracting the best gm talent in the league with that level of loyalty and humility. I really can’t think of a boss that is that forgiving in any industry (do not agree with the loyalty personally)
@PatrickCPresent@TheHockeyNews Great analysis and think most fans would agree pre os. One big lingering question: are a majority of fans going to continue to see him as the face of the franchise assuming he is the only 12+mill offer sheet signer (this year, next year, ever). Don’t know either way
@pmcdoniv@DucksNPucks Leos cap % assuming projected cap growth would be historic for a winning team every year of his contract If you add a projected cutter % the top 2 % would be historic for a winning time by a lot I think they will match but it will not max our chance of a cup
@EmptyNettersPod sign Cutter to 8x12-press conference: Cutter is dedicated to winning with this franchise like Crosby with the Penguins. The Ducks are tirelessly going to build a cup winning franchise with players like Cutter. The Ducks decline to match the Flyers offer sheet.
@ducks2007quack Stats usually don’t lie. From a pure cup winning standpoint because people are pointing to Sakic and Aho re Leo offer sheet. Aho os was 10% of cap. Sakic os was 0% of cap. Leo os 17% of cap. ~13% of cap when it ends for Leo
@NHL_Muse Walk.
Aho os was 10% of cap. Sakic os was 0% of cap. Leo os 17% of cap. Leo chose money, which is fine, but the ducks have to choose a cup competitive team. Take picks and 18m and make a better team
#letleogo#flytogether
Thinking about this @AnaheimDucks have to walk on the Leo deal. Regardless of blame, actions always speak. Leo chose money and there is nothing wrong with that but we have to choose the team. Let him walk at 18m and work hard to get the team better
