A day I chose not to trade used to be a hole in my journal.
Now it's one tick : Stood Aside, on purpose. It counts like a day I traded.
Reinforce taking the right decision, avoid the cheap dopamine rush from a bad win.
@ShePlaysMarkets early september on QQQ : "I could have stayed in this trade longer but thought I would take my profits and go to sleep"
here : "let the upside do its thing"
do you have clear rules for closing trades early or putting aggresive BE ?
@TraderTeaH2T sep 25 on the ES long : "No victory lap until the position is closed"
today on GBPCAD : "The trade isn't finished"
looks like there's something interesting there
@Flavioezx@TradingLucid@tradingview same day, a few hours earlier : "One tick away from TP… ONE", then the SL. this one got TP by 1 tick
did you do research on the potential R you're leaving by targeting far, or having wide SL ?
@ordinaryguy_io sep 21 : three shorts in a day, in the post where you wrote "the macro is still very bullish".
Do you have a clear outline of when you're allowed to play against your macro bias ? This helped me a lot
@tradermike1234 And you can only grade that if you judge the trade before you look at the P&L. Otherwise the lucky rule-breaking trades get journaled as good trades.
@tradermike1234 One trade is random, 50 isn't... and at 15 a coin flip still looks like an edge. Most people judge the setup way before 50 unfortunately
