The beautiful game. The people’s game.
Throughout this World Cup, we have been reminded of a simple truth: football belongs to everyone. So does the joy and community it creates.
Yesterday, I joined New Yorkers on Rikers Island to watch England take on Argentina. We experienced one of the tournament’s biggest moments side by side.
Joy and connection should not be scarce resources. Every New Yorker deserves to have their dignity affirmed.
I am hearing that on his deathbed Lindsey Graham received the light of Islam and unhesitatingly recited the Shahada. Even now he looks down on the Ummah from the gardens of Jannah. Truly there is no god but Allah, and Mohammad is his prophet!
Pashtun version of The Office where Roy puts a jezzail bullet through Jim halfway through the first season for insulting his honour and the rest of the show is just members of Jim’s clan hunting down members of Roy’s clan to avenge him. Also Pam is a 12 year old boy.
Women are the manager of the home, not a servant for you to say, “Why didn’t you do this? Why didn’t you do that? Why isn’t the house clean?” A woman is like a flower. A flower must be cared for and protected, and she will enrich you with her color, fragrance, and qualities.
@GumballTj3@cabbage_content I think if you believe that justifies killing 100k civilians, but oppose nuking Israel, you're making a judgement about what human life is valuable. I dislike commies because they truly believe some human lives are less valuable than others, ie their vilification of businessmen
Compare Calvin Coolidge on America’s 150th anniversary:
“It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers."
Really interesting detail:
To support the point that, no, America is not a feudal society governed by ancient English feudal law and precedent, Thomas cited...
MURRAY ROTHBARD!
@MarxoidNess@Nachtel_Hussar Self interest is a feature of markets, and it does not predispose people to be irrational. Even Keynes for his work on the irrationality of labor markets admitted they would self-correct in the long run. Houses prices are high because that IS their actual clearing price.
@MarxoidNess@Luentezzz@sigmahamster2@JDCocchiarella Very interesting. 1.9 million home sellers, upon finding out their houses are priced above market clearing value, all choose not to lower prices because they are all psychopaths! Those economists really fucked up, couldn't account for the millions of psychopaths in markets.
