Big News: Margelo has been acquired by @callstackio for over EUR 20 million. 🥳

I founded Margelo 5 years ago, knowing nothing about business - I actually dropped out of economics university after 3 days.

We built our reputation for high-end performance software through open-source libraries like VisionCamera (40M downloads) and react-native-mmkv (67M downloads), and quickly landed high-profile clients like Discord, Coinbase, Expensify and VSCO.

Two years ago we doubled down on mobile architecture with Nitro (34M downloads), which gained rapid adoption in the community and allowed us to bring even more ideas to life.

I’ve been friends with Mike from Callstack for a long time, which makes me even more excited to remain a significant shareholder and bring mobile technology to a whole new level.

Starting a company across the EU today = 27 legal systems, 60+ company structures 🤯

That might be about to change…

The European Commission just introduced 𝗘𝗨 𝗜𝗻𝗰., a new optional corporate framework designed to make Europe actually function like one market.

Here’s what stands out:

→ Set up a company in 48 hours
→ Cost: < €100
→ Fully online, no minimum capital
→ One single framework across all EU countries
→ Easier share transfers & fundraising
→ EU-wide employee stock options (huge for talent)

Especially the EU-wide stock option plans, taxed only when employees actually sell (instead of when granted) is huge.

This makes it far easier for startups to attract and retain top talent, finally putting Europe closer to the US playbook.

In short: This is Europe trying to compete with the simplicity of a Delaware C-Corp 🇺🇸

And honestly… it’s long overdue.

For years, European founders had 2 choices:

1. Stay local and deal with fragmentation

If executed well, this could be one of the most important structural changes for European startups in decades.

We ran that experiment at @codemaskcom and the result was honestly surprising!

Using only Codex 5.3 and Claude, a single developer shipped a full mobile game built with React Native, Skia, Reanimated, and Uniwind.

He didn’t write or modify a single line of code‼️

UI and graphics came from stock assets.
Music was generated with @ElevenLabs .
The app is already live on the stores and ready to play.

This is probably 50x-300x as many CPU cycles as the version without useMemo because of the function creation, array creation, function call, dependency traversing, comparisons, etc. - stop overusing 𝚞𝚜𝚎𝙼𝚎𝚖𝚘!
