🇺🇦 🇷🇺 Is Russia's War in Ukraine Exposing Western Military Weaknesses?

🇷🇺📉 40% of Russians' income goes on food. Putin is betting his people will suffer in silence.
@MarkGaleotti — one of the world's leading experts on Russia — in an exclusive interview says Russia's economy is cannibalising itself. And the Kremlin has calculated it can keep doing so for years.
"It's cannibalising itself — the way that if you are putting too much effort and not eating enough, your body will start to devour itself in the desperate quest for energy."
Mortgages unaffordable. Pensions under threat. Public services being cut. And yet protest remains too dangerous to contemplate in a thuggish police state at war.
The Kremlin isn't worried. It's gambling the war ends before the people break.

🇺🇸🤯🇨🇳 Trump just gave Beijing what it always wanted on Taiwan.
And it could change the entire balance of power in Southeast Asia.
@KennedyCSIS — one of America's leading China experts — in an exclusive interview, says Trump handed China something no other US president has ever given: a say over American arms sales to Taiwan.
"He said he had heard Xi Jinping on weapon sales and he was going to reconsider. It basically gives China a say which the US has never given them before."
Trump ran on being tougher on China than anyone. He just handed Beijing its biggest win on Taiwan in decades.
That's not a deal. That's a concession.

🇪🇺🇷🇺 Europe has Putin by the throat. It just hasn't tightened its grip.
Retired US Army @general_ben, in an exclusive interview, says Europe's combined economies, technology and industrial capacity dwarfs Russia — and it has tools it hasn't even begun to use.
Every shadow fleet vessel carrying Russian oil and gas to China and India passes through NATO and EU waters in the Baltic and Black Sea.
"You can stop those. Or stop giving out visas to Russian tourists. There's a lot of things that could be done."
Europe doesn't need America to win this war. It needs to decide it wants to.

🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦 Russia is losing 35,000 troops a month. The Ukrainians want to push that to 50,000.
In an exclusive interview, US Senator and combat veteran @CaptMarkKelly just got back from Odessa. He finished his panel at the opera house and went straight into a bunker.
"We get our panel done and then we've gotta go into the bunker because Odessa's under attack."
This is what the war actually looks like. Not the ceasefire theatre. Not Trump's phone calls. The ground truth.

@John_F_kJr 1. Moving troops from Europe only hurts the USA more.
2. You can’t just ‘move’ a bunch of soldiers out, it actually takes a lot of administrative and logistical work.
3. There isn’t even 100k troops in Europe you complete idiot.
🇷🇺🇪🇺 A SENIOR RUSSIAN DIPLOMAT WARNS EUROPE: 'YOU'RE BUILDING A WAR AGAINST US."
@Dpol_un is Russia’s permanent representative to the OSCE, and he has spent decades in Russian diplomacy, including as Deputy Ambassador to the UN.
On @theglobalgambit he said the OSCE has been hollowed out, the consensus principle has been abused, and the organization is no longer functioning as the pan-European security platform it was meant to be.
He argues that the post-Cold War European security order was built unfairly, with NATO expansion treating Russia as a permanent adversary rather than a partner in a shared security architecture.
Moscow tried diplomacy for years, through the Minsk process, through OSCE channels, and through proposed European security talks, but the West treated those efforts as cover while preparing Ukraine for confrontation.
He warns that Europe is now repeating the same mistake: rearming, isolating Russia, and talking openly as if a war with Russia is inevitable.
And his core point is simple:
if Europe keeps framing Russia as an enemy, it will get the conflict it says it is trying to prevent.
🇮🇷⚔️🇺🇸 Iran cannot defeat the USA or Israel militarily.
But it may not be about 'winning'. The strategy emerging so far may be far simpler - outlasting.
The IRGC especially, and who possess more internal influence as each day goes by - know they can't defeat the US or go toe-to-toe.
So they're shifting the battlefield elsewhere:
• cheap drones forcing expensive interceptors
• pressure on Gulf energy infrastructure
• tension around the Strait of Hormuz
• political fatigue inside Western governments
A $20k drone forcing a $4m interceptor isn’t an accident.
It’s strategy.
Because the longer the war drags on, the harder it becomes to answer a basic question:
What actually counts as victory?
Regime change?
Missile destruction?
Leadership decapitation?
Air power alone rarely delivers any of those.
Which means Iran doesn’t need to defeat the coalition.
It only needs to make the war long, expensive, and politically uncomfortable enough that the coalition begins to question it itself.
All this and more so be sure to follow @theglobalgambit.
