Day 10 of #31DaysofGraves Theme is Landscape. Arnos Vale's landscape is listed and was described as 'most picturesque' when the cemetery first opened in 1839. As the site is 45 acres its hard to show the whole landscape, so here is one of our lovely views to the Anglican Chapel.
Day 11 of #31DaysofGraves Theme is Portrait. Check out this amazing image of Monument to Dr Thomas Tovey Smart (d.1882). One of a number of listed memorials that can be found in the cemetery. https://t.co/zfLRMtXgl5
Day 12 of #31DaysofGraves Theme is Mystery. So today's grave is a scattering in the Garden of Rest of Bristol's oldest unsolved murder - poor Robert Parrington Jackson. How did he die? Find out here https://t.co/Ik7Ritve7o
Day 1 of #31DaysofGraves Theme is Memento Mori. This phrase means Remember you will die - to remind you to live well. The image from the cemetery today is an upside down torch (representing a light/life being extinguished) with a remembrance wreath around it.

Day 5 of #31DaysofGraves Theme is 'Heart'. Today it is a close up of a mourning woman holding a wreath to her heart. Learn more about the cemetery's symbolism here https://t.co/PRsn2I1WIw.
Day 6 of #31DaysofGraves Theme is 'Damaged'. During the Bristol Blitz of WW2 the cemetery suffered some direct hits and this grave really demonstrates the shrapnel damage. #bristolblitz#cemetery
