My awesome friend Alistair Begg just retired from the pulpit. He has had an incredible ministry for decades. I know it will continue - just in a different capacity. Bless you, Alistair.
@ZacharyAKlein@e_baumgaertel I’ve been to youth group. The ones I attended fit the stereotype. I know of others who said the same thing. I’m sure there are some good ones but they’re like Jesus movies, I haven’t seen any good ones yet.
Over 2 years ago Joel Osteen had my video removed from YouTube.
I believe it was because he wanted to silence it. It's not even a hit piece. It is a very gracious but honest evaluation of a typical Joel Osteen sermon. Before it was taken down a ton of people said that it really helped them think biblically about Osteen's teaching.
After several months of getting views and reaching people someone close to Osteen contacted me and said that they thought the video was so well done they were going to show it to Osteen personally, hoping he could benefit from it.
Within just a few days the video was removed from YouTube due to a copyright claim submitted on behalf of Lakewood Church. Osteen's organization.
Here it is, in full and unedited.
"Analyzing a Typical Joel Osteen Sermon"
@ZacharyAKlein@iMatthewJ I’m bad at theology. Aren’t those two covenants a way to describe the concept Paul is talking about in the two federal heads in Romans 5?
I’m so grateful for this transparent and realistic statement in today’s sermon from @ReadingSpurgeon. This truth is recognisable and liberating.
How much grace and divine strength is needed to persevere in the service of our wonderful Saviour. I feel it more as the years pass.
@EzraBrainard Yeah, from what I remember, his view was that we are looking forward to seeing Jesus in heaven. Basically he was what I would consider “full on” Preterist. Though many Preterists would say he wasn’t a real one. Also he had other issues, like universalism.
