@MJMcKean We knew George from the West Village scene, he was known as Mortician George, band called The Morticians, even did one gig (that I remember) in a barber shop with George playing drums and I guess Steve. Probably '65 when I was 15 with some friends from Brooklyn who also played
Caro, Cameron & Finn took Brown to court and won the rights to their name. It harmed their reputation as radio stations didn't want to play Left Banke after being told there was a "fake" Left Banke. Too messy.
The Left Banke x @SpinalTap's @MJMcKean have peripheral history. Long story short, Michael Brown recorded 2 songs under our name but with a different line-up feat. Burt Sommer on vox. He put a band together feat. the OG LB drummer Lisa (then known as David), & Michael McKean.
Thinking of our dear George Cameron on the anniversary of his crossing over. He is very missed and celebrated and would really get a kick out of all the new Left Banke fans. We love you and miss you very much George 🧡🎙️🥁 #georgecameron#theleftbanke
Happy bday to Steven Tallarico aka @IamStevenT who was friends with our own Steve Martin Caro (read the article of a not-so-fun night🤕) You can hear him sing backing vocals on our songs “Nice to See You”, “Give the Man a Hand”, “Dark is the Bark” & “My Friend Today” 🎂🎉🎸
Remembering Micheal Brown Lookofsky 4/25-49~3/19/15 Micheal’s contributions of song and piano style helped shape our signature Baroque Pop sound that is still loved to this day. May his memory and music be a blessing. - The Left Banke

☘️Happy St. Patricks day! Here is The Left Banke (2011 lineup) at St. Patrick’s Cathedral performing “Walk Away Renee” feat. George Cameron, Tom Finn and Charly Cazalet with choral direction by the late, great Ralph Affoumado 💛 #walkawayrenee#stpatricks#theleftbanke
@cogswell24910 Thanks for the kind words and great feedback. We will be posting more, in fact, as we approach our 60th anniversary! Thanks for your follow
RIP #EricCarmen. He was a musical genius whose music will live on forever, be it his solo career or with #TheRaspberries. He even covered “Walk Away Renee”, go give it a listen on YouTube and check out the rest of his catalog. #allbymyself#goalltheway#walkawayrenee
Thinking of Alan Merrill @TheAleecat on the anniversary of his birthday. He was an amazing human being, singer/songwriter, guitar god and the biggest cheerleader of The Left Banke since the 60’s. He even named an album “Rive Gauche” which translates to Left Banke as a tribute🧡
Hearing early reports that Mary Weiss (The Shangri-La’s) has left us. She left an impression on the world, including Michael Brown, who she inspired to write “I Shall Call Her Mary” and record it with Montage. Here is Mary w/ Tom Finn, Alan Merrill & Tom Feher in 2011. #MaryWeiss
