2... Rxe1 loses to 3.Nxf6+ gxf6 4.Qg4+ and the bishop takes on f6. Best try seems to be 4...Re6 but 5.Rxe6 fxe6 6.Bxf6 seems good enough with two pieces for the rook and the attack.
