I finished it a week ago & took this long to talk about it outside of family & the farmers I know read it. Consider this a hearty endorsement & a big sign you needed to pop this little novel to the top of your reading pile.

You'll find yourself giving him your most kind & warm smile, wondering about him after you leave, and hoping beyond hope that you provided some warmth or connection in those few moments... which is really just something this world needed more of anyway.

I got chills as this room full of @wifarmersunion members quietly pulled out their notepads & phones to write down @usdafsa Administrator Ducheneaux’s phone #. What an honor & privilege to meet OUR administrator and know he trusts us to call him as we work on that better future.
I’ve said before that many of the corporate abuses in the Jungle are frighteningly similar to the abuses we see from consolidated industry today. This is a truly horrifying example of how terribly companies with unchecked power treat human life.

A pleasure to join an array of friends at @NFUDC’s offices to collaborate on leveraging #foodsafety grant funds to support small/mid-scale & marginalized farmers. It’s so fun to meet with like-minded folks to learn & strategize future efforts! @MNFarmersUnion@IAfarmersunion
@annahultberg@TheGoodAcreMN@NFUDC@2harvest Yes, the @wifoodhub is one of the primary grant partners in WI. There is a lot of opportunity to use these funds to move ourselves toward the food system we want to see. I hope everyone is doing it with a goal of creating long-term sustainability after the grants dry up.
