Today was my final day at the @TimesFreePress & in journalism.
I’ll be heading back to @LeeU for my masters to begin a career in education.
I want to give the community, our readers and sources a heartfelt thank you for your trust.
For fun, here’s a photo of me on assignment.
@JMcDonald_SAEN He has a fine point. Wemby is wrapped around the neck by one player and has another shoving him. How there was no whistle before the elbow is mind numbing.
Officials need to figure out how to officiate Wemby. This is every game.
Play should have been long over before elbow.
@andreperrotta13 To have to take a timeout to save a delay of game on the opening play of a drive while your QB is telling you to hurry up is fireable coaching
@BenjiNaesen 3 or 4. A worthwhile watch but not a memorable tour. Non-competitive GC battle. Not overly exciting stage wins/stories. Jasper crashing out and very few sprint stages kept us from what could have been an epic Jasper disaster, Merlier, Milan sprint supremacy battle.
@Ddozmoe@BenjiNaesen A big part of cycling is about being in position. Seems logical to go up the right hand side to get food. Not sure what UAE is doing in the middle if they want to take a feed.
@ChristianVDV I’m curious if yesterday was all about kilojoules. Visma’s DS told the boys on the radio at the end of the stage that the team did well and accomplished its goal of making the day hard. I’m curious if they’re trying to ramp up the daily effort to add fatigue
@Roadman_Podcast Ehh. Sounds good but not sure this is true (even overlooking the made up numbers).
Unchained not gaining wide interest isn’t some great thing for cycling.
Teams embracing it could have helped grow the sport. In the end, the show has been too French-focused and didn’t resonate
@BenjiNaesen@LucGrefte Decided to throw on the 2020 Tour preview for kicks and giggles today while waiting for this year’s. Obviously, we all know you correctly called the Tadej win, but you also correctly predicted a Stage 6 breakaway win by Lutsenko 🤯
