so cat’s out of the bag. i’ve released my book, Fractured Fictions. a lifetime of free-verse poems stitched together in a passion project of imperfect devotion. if my words have ever lingered with you, let them find you again. links in replies.(engagement baiting with that video)
Happy pride month to the queer Muslims who get hated on by non Muslims queers for being Muslim, Muslims for being queer and ex muslims for remaining Muslim. I love you guys and never let anyone make you believe that your faith and sexuality or gender identity cannot coexist ❤️
"mentally molested" w 47 likes. then people wonder how rape culture reproduces itself in left spaces. terms tied to real violence are used as throwaway exaggerations & cheered upon. this is how misogyny is normalised. genuinely disturbing to see. makes my stomach turn.
@jeanxvaljean or they'll just move from one oppressive system to another, just a more westernised oppressive system that looks like liberation. shallow critiques help no one. just pushes the marginalised women further away. feminism that doesn't account for the most marginalised is useless
@jeanxvaljean obviously there are different channels through which such choices are propagated but if there is to be any change it's in giving women opportunities that allow them to have agency. a change in the material conditions of women that shape these choices
The Indian govt is so embarassing in its responses to the western world. US + Canada + Europe can call Indians all kinds of names under the sun, declare that they never want India to develop, or Indian migrants — and India can’t even rhetorically respond with dignity for its ppl:
Mustafa has passed away, but your humanity is still alive 💔
The donations for his treatment have now become a way to comfort his family, who are living under the pressure of poverty, and our goal is to build them a home that preserves their dignity

coercion is a pre requisite to patriarchy. and it extends beyond such symbolic fights. it is how patriarchy operates. most clothing choices under patriarchy are coerced. these discussions actively reproduces exclusion pushing out the marginalised women. (14/n)
such claims display a shallow understanding of patriarchy as a system. to see it as a collection of individual practices to condemn selectively in abstraction shows a weak grasp on how power actually operates through material conditions, ideology & social relations (1/n)
If you are a feminist you will hate hijab, ghunghat and every thing which in disguise of modesty and religious teaching imposes restrictions on women's liberty and freedom
talk about universal access to education, economic independence, healthcare, safe public spaces & the dismantling of both patriarchal control over women's lives. without these, debates about clothing remain superficial and anti-feminist. (13/n)
