@DarkSideAdvcate@PopCrave I mean— they’re taking this guy with a *major* spinal injury and shaking him around, holding him by his head/neck. Is he supposed to smile or something?
@dieworkwear Are you saying you’re actually autistic? If not, this doesn’t land the way you probably meant it to. (Ps you might be autistic anyway. I mean, look.)
RIP to Steve Albini, a wizard who would hate being called a wizard, but who surely made magic.
Here's the Electric Audio layout for 'Magnolia Electric Co', just sketched out simply, on paper, like it's not poised to shift time and space and all our hearts.
@DanGutmanBooks Left (only b/c it will last longer due to the way the water will roll off & make smaller puddles on either end, vs pooling in one large central puddle, soaking the center, which will eventually make it more likely to break into two smaller chunks, which then dissolve faster)
@dieworkwear It is wild to me that Tristan thinks he dresses like Cary Grant at all, and even wilder to me that he thinks he needs to (or personally can) improve on grant’s fit. You cannot bench press your way to elegance, my man.
@sensorystories_ I did know! Was more paralyzingly affected as a child and young adult than now, but maybe that’s b/c I’ve got enough things in place now to help me handle things/ i recognize what it is when it’s happening etc. (I’m fortunate.)
@Angela_Watson Also, we have not walked back anything with regard to DEIB work/practice, and in fact have just created a DEIB role to join Sr Admin. Acknowledgement & experienced support of disability and neurodivergence in students and adults factored into the hiring for this role.
@Angela_Watson Not codified, but we do have some solid practices currently in place. As an audhd admin, an example of intentional ND care in my program was to structure teacher preps & breaks to be back-to-back, which gives my teachers a little more flexibility/autonomy in shaping their time.
@Angela_Watson Also have health plans that offer fsa/ HSA, which can be tremendously helpful for teachers who need to pursue evaluation and Dx, as it’s ridiculously hard to find providers who take insurance, and sometimes your fsa/HSA is the only thing that makes it remotely affordable
@Angela_Watson We also have invested in strengthening our support svcs team, which, while most directly benefits students, very definitely supports ND teachers who might otherwise feel more overwhelmed and who might burn out more quickly. Supporting students supports teachers, and vice versa.
@Angela_Watson Another is to implement pretty clear rubrics re: role expectations etc— NT teachers can prickle at these, but i find that my ND teachers actually appreciate the clarity, esp if the rubrics are used primarily for reflection & goals vs raises/ contracts etc
