NEW EPISODE of MIXED UP with @AprylW
went live last week where we discuss modern day segregation and sexual racism on dating apps - specifically how prejudice & bias get baked into modern dating culture through algorithms and AI

We've been quiet for a while, but we're back! Very excited to share a new episode of the podcast with the lovely @KaleFutterman talking all things writers strike

New episode of Mixed Up is live with the brilliant
@afuahirsch, on the fight for collective liberation, why the struggle is an undeniable part of us and how we need to lean into it to find home
You can listen on @ApplePodcasts now!
https://t.co/YEdNWKnzoB
@afuahirsch discusses the diasporic phenomenon of feeling the link to your culture is precarious, finding your mission, liberating us from our ideas of imperfection because we are mixed, and that discomfort leads to insight and energy to tackle the systems of oppression
TOMORROW: We are doing our first live recording with fashion stylist, writer and cultural commentator, @ayishat_akanbi for our Black History Month series at
@sohohouse, Greek St.
We’ll be discussing topics such as modern day activism, where we were vs where we are now in terms of liberation, and moving forward in a contentious world of polarised opinions and viewpoints. This event is ticketed and for members only, but watch this space for audio and video!
Thank you Nicole and Emma, you have excellent listening skills and I was surprised at how open I was with you but then again that is your talent - you get your guests to rabbit on unfiltered, thank you for the opportunity to express me. (now why can't I have a brown emoji!)
🙂
Does anyone have a contact at @bumble UK for something that I am working on for @themixeduppod? Ideally a marketing contact or someone who can comment on data? Please RT! #JournoRequest
Rosemary is certainly one of our modern day icons and someone we look up to for her incredible, relentless work in the activism space. You can also listen to this episode on @SpotifyUK!

We kicked off Black History Month with a moving interview with Rosemary Adaser (@MixedRaceIrish) for Mixed Up as we wanted to look into what is still modern history and the treatment of mixed race children by the church and state.

Rosemary was a member of the Collaborative Forum on Mother and Baby Homes, a campaign to ensure the commission examined the experiences of children who had Irish mothers and fathers of colour, & the damning evidence of abuse that took place in Irish mother and baby institutions.
