Doug Ford: ‘Teachers are lazy! It’s insane that they get 2 months off during the summer!’
Also Doug Ford: ‘There’s nothing wrong with us getting a 3 month winter vacation and a 5 month vacation over summer! We work so hard!’
@KGBure@TinaYazdani@ETFOeducators@MaritStiles According to the technical papers $450 is "new money" and $300 is from existing classroom supplies budgets. "Grade-assigned" teachers only in elementary get it.
Another farce.
Doug Ford has racked up the largest subnational debt in the world. No province, state or small country has as much debt as Ford. Ontario's net debt is projected to surpass half a trillion dollars, sitting at around $507.1 billion and he goes off on vacation for five months?
Scott Pelley issues new statement after being fired by CBS for opposing their pro-MAGA bias:
“New management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them.
Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done.
Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.”
@Thetrilliumca Of course it will be. ELearning gave the government their 27 or 28:1 ratio with the data coming out showing the majority of students opted out.
Remember before 2021 the funded average was 22:1. No eLearning.
#BREAKING - MPP’s are leaving on what will be an almost 5 month break. The Ford government says the legislature won’t return until October 28th, a 148 day summer break. MPP’s though will continue to work in their constituencies and in committees.
Pierre Poilievre calls the elected leader of the United States “President Trump.”
He calls the elected leader of Canada “Mark Carney.”
Apparently he has more respect for American institutions than Canadian ones. 🤷♂️
@PierrePoilievre
@TinaYazdani@Thetrilliumca Reminds me of the Lecce days. If you keep saying "bargaining in good faith" enough times people might think it's actually true.
Moments ago: NDP leader Marit Stiles demands an apology from Premier Doug Ford for “betraying the people of Ontario” during this 29-day session.
“He spent their money on a luxury private jet… sold out the Toronto waterfront… & changed laws to hide his cell phone records.”
The Ford government confirmed we won’t be back at Queen’s Park for 102 days.
While I’m excited to spend the summer in Nepean meeting with residents, businesses, and community groups, Ontarians deserve a government that’s willing to show up and do its job.
After calling a snap election to “Protect Ontario,” it’s hard to understand why this government is taking 5 months off while families continue to struggle with the cost of living, health care, and housing. #onpoli
@sarobertson_ Jaw-dropping level of Idiocracy and projection. That feeling when you're forced to do extra work as a group because of that one person...and it continues to go right over their head.
“How did we go from paper straws to data centres?”
Because no one listened to the environmentalists who said unchecked corporate pollution was the bigger issue.
This is one of those times where this is a necessity. Letting the public have "ownership" through the rigged markets (their ideas) is not where it should go.
