May 31, 2026. Taunton defeated Newton South 17-1 in 5 innings in a Division 1 MIAA Massachusetts State Tournament game. Taunton pounded out 17 hits in 4 innings of offense and had 6 players in the starting lineup with 2 more hits in the game as a key factor in the win. Gracie Oliveira reached base on all 4 plate appearances with 2 hits (triple, single) 2 walks, scored 3 runs and 2 RBIs. Bella Bourque had 3 hits (3 singles) scored 3 runs and had 2 RBIs. Mia Torres had 3 hits (3 singles) 1 walk, scored 3 runs, 1 stolen base and 1 RBI. Jay Gagnon had 2 hits (double, single) and 2 RBIs. Victoria Corrao had 2 hits (2 singles) 1 stolen base, scored 1 run and had 1 RBI.
Also contributing to the win for Taunton on offense: Aniyah Bailey had 1 hit (single) scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. Kaylee Lopes had 1 hit (double) scored 1 run and had 1 RBI. Ashlyn Hebert had 1 hit (double) 1 walk, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. Grace Simmons had 1 hit (single) scored 1 run and had 1 RBI. Meghan Krockta had 1 hit (single). Grace Bennett had 1 RBI.
Pitcher Molly Buffington pitched 3 innings, allowed only 2 hits, no earned runs for the win. Ella Parece pitched 2 innings and allowed only 1 hit, no walks and no runs.
Taunton is now (20-1) and advances to the sweet 16 of the MIAA Tournament against Braintree on June 3, 2026, at Taunton.

The Red Sox are in the market for a right-handed hitter with thump. Last year, they gave up Blaze Jordan, a former 3rd round draft pick, for two months of Steven Matz. Jordan, 23, has a Class AAA slash line of .317/.378/.537 so far this year, with 8 homers, 14 walks, 20 Ks. Chaim Bloom knew the player.

April 4, 2026. Taunton defeated North Attleboro 11-3 in a league game. Taunton’s Bella Bourque had a standout game as she reached base on all 5 batting attempts that included a solo Home Run, 2 singles, 1 walk, 1 hit by pitch and had 3 RBIs. Aniyah Bailey had a dynamic game as she reached base 4 times in the game that included a 2-run Home Run, single, walk, an error and had 3 RBIs. Also shining for the Tigers, Kaylee Lopes had 2 hits, 1 RBI, Mia Torres had 2 hits, 1 walk, 2 stolen bases, Grace Simmons 2 hits, 1 RBI and Eighth Grade pitcher Ella Parece earned her third win of the season and struck out 5 batters.
North Attleboro had 2 hits and 1 RBI each from Jill Lewicki and Grace Forman. Lindsey DeGirolamo and Molly Willey each had 2 hits.
Taunton Home Run Spotlights: Bella Bourque hit her first Home Run of the 2026 season on a solo shot high over the fence in left field in the third inning. Aniyah Bailey hit her first Home Run of the season, a 2-run bomb that blazed like a rocket deep over the center field fence in the fourth inning.
Taunton Defensive Stars: Kaylee Lopes made an exceptional play in the bottom of the second inning making a great catch in right field for an out and then fired the ball with velocity on target to catcher Aniyah Bailey who tagged out the runner at home plate who attempted to score after tagging up for a double play that ended the inning. Kaylee made 3 great catches for outs in the game. Victoria Corrao also played a strong game on defense making plays.
Taunton scored 2 runs in the first inning, 1 in the third, 4 in the fourth, 1 in the sixth and 3 in the seventh inning.
Taunton is now (3-0) in 2026.

A dominating force on the mound in 2025 going 19-0 with a .63 ERA, 0 wild pitches and only allowed 10 earned runs in 19 games, Catherine Larson proved that she is not only one of the best at her position in Massachusetts but also the USA in High School softball. At bat she had an abundance of timely hits and ended the regular 2025 season with a batting average of .420 and slugging percentage of .740
Up next post season play in the Massachusetts State Tournament (MIAA) where Taunton (20-0) is the number 1 seed. Taunton has won the state championship in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and a realistic goal to continue that streak in 2025.
