I am a bit biased here, but if a brand has their own platform/app, they can build a custom community on top of their existing platform/app using tools like @LikeMindsChat. This way they can create unique experiences for their members without loosing out on network effects.
I'm burned out on Slack and Discord.
There are communities on there that I like, but because I'm avoiding the platforms as a whole, I don't participate.
That's the downside of building on big social platforms.
If a member quits the platform, they also quit your community.
@neerajarora Today’s construct of perceived relationships through proxy signals like contacts in your address book, friends of friends, etc don’t account for shared contexts unfortunately.
The real driver for long term success of a social platform will be in strengthening shared contexts.
Today, @abhisheks1204 @jamil9891 and I announce @fashinza_ 's $100mil Series B in equity and debt led by @Ashutosh_Blr & Gaurav at @Prosus_Ventures (earlier Naspers) and Sandeep & Rahul at WestBridge with strong participation from Accel & Elevation (1/9) https://t.co/BonAUjWRhS
@rosiesherry Figure out a single member utility and then demonstrate them the potential of network effects.
Wrote this 6 years back while building a doctor community platform. I think it still hold true.

@aditichoprax@north_star_says@Deepak910k@VarunMayya@MotwaniSuhas@prao24 Definitely a game changer for IRL communities where people don’t mind sharing phone numbers with others and where micro communities of a larger community already exist on WA. I’d be curious to see how it evolves for online brand communities.

How exactly did community building help them? In Zeeshan’s words - their referral rates despite having an NPS of 50+ were as low as 4%. That's when they started focusing on building community for their students.
Took some time to repay, but referral rates went up to 22%. (7/n)
