@eean@Kate4Berkeley cHaNgE!!!!!
I subbed in on the rec and parks committee for one of their meetings about this. People were acting like hotels are these evil things. I politely brought up that my family is on the east coast and our lack of hotels makes it harder for families to come visit.
@eean@Kate4Berkeley Possibly adding hotel space and amenities like coffee shops, etc. Notice that Kate is calling this 'privatization' instead of what it really is, 'opening businesses that will provide nice things for people to come to the marina.'
@chrsdcook @I_Heart_Frisco @HeyJoeMaier San Francisco was never 'manhattanized.' it's a meaningless word that you're using because what you're actually advocating for - banning apartments in a city - would sound ridiculous if you actually came out and said it.
@Sr_Lazarus I used to chair SF YIMBY, I'm currently a lead of East Bay YIMBY. I've worked with coalition partners ranging from tenants rights groups, advocates for the homeless, unions, homeowners, law & order types, etc. Your post is detrimental to our coalition work.
@WarrenJWells The fire chief is trying to get funding for a Street Trauma Prevention program which would apply the same approach that FDs take to preventing fires to preventing street trauma.
Here's a petition to advocate for that funding: https://t.co/x6vqTmfvGr
