Never, ever be afraid to be weird.
Never be frightened about what other people think about you! If you like weird stuff, if you do weird things, if you're a weird _person_, own it and show it off!
Surprise: Lots of folks who embrace their weirdness turn out to be weirdly happy.
@poncle_games You've made a big deal about the game having exactly zero vampires for a very long time.
Now that you're introducing Soma Cruz as a playable character, I guess you can't play that ALU-card, anymore.
@itssamanthaaaa_ Well, I mean, you get the right _shoes_...
(Gods, I couldn't even. Give me a lift higher than two inches and I'll collapse with a shriek of Kaiju-like despair, crushing an orphanage on my way down.)
The fun thing about FAFO is that if you go into it with both eyes open, the "Finding Out" part can be very helpful. FAFO is, indeed, the very basis of scientific exploration.
For example, I now have a much better view of a certain moderation team's standards.
@GreatCheshire And more than just Bros!
Webber did go downhill during the '90s and '00s, but I don't think anyone in their right mind could blame the LGBTQ+ community as a whole for Sunset Boulevard.
@Nash076@GreatCheshire We lost an untold number of our brothers and sisters to the fuckeries of Reagan, Thatcher and their ilk, but this take is... _certainly_ something.
@ButNotTheCity @CaseyExplosion These people didn't just poison the well, they drew from a well of poison. They sampled wells, vigorously tested them for which would be most poisonous, pointed at it, and said, "That one, that's the well we're drawing from."
This has as much rigour as a bowl of borax slime.
Just a quick reminder that the only (very limited) benefit the 'ROGD' papers have is the *startling* revelation that kids aren't likely to confide in omniphobic parents.
Hey, I was kind of terrified of getting kicked out for being queer as a youth, too! With great parents!
PSA: Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria is a joke. It does not exist. Every paper on this topic is flawed. Every single one of them. The only thing these researchers have evaluated is how shitty the transphobic parents to their kids. If you did not see it coming, it simply meansβ¦
@vexwerewolf @sciam The most essential part of it all is to remember that any arguments they make are interchangeable. The substance doesn't matter -- all that matters is that it is _an_ argument, and when refuted can be replaced with another moments later.
If science doesn't work, try MORALS!1!
@thegreenman1949 Works both ways, of course. Labatt and Miller are both pilsners that taste like something that came out of a horse, but I'm a huge fan of Great Lakes Brewery and Stone, and we get some pretty nice lagers and stouts up on this side of the divide.
(IPAs can go away, please?)
@thegreenman1949 Eh, not that old, I'm mid-30s and still remember those days. I'm just saying that Americans can put out crap, too! (And so can Canadians, of course. I'm an equal-opportunity grouse.)
@thegreenman1949 @valeriehalla Yeah, because being made in America is such a magnificent indicator of quality. Has the neologism 'Found On Road, Dead' already been forgotten?
@VyriaDurav Well, it did at least result in catgirls, so it wasn't a *total* loss. Something tells me, though, that this idea won't even have that saving grace.
To @cakeswithfaces -- thank you so, so much for the dress! It's perfect, especially for this blasted hot and humid summer.
Everyone else should check them out. This one's the circatboard one.
@christapeterso Would he... prefer we call him trans? I mean, that's what 'cis' means in the context of the word, is 'not trans', so... surely there's some logic to be considered here.
