@LukeJohnsonRCP Real world experience: I recently applied for a civil service job. Average civil service salary offered was 40% below what I found (and eventually was offered) in the private sector. Yes, CS offered a pension of approximately 20% but not worth the pay cut. CS needs an increase.
@MarinaPurkiss You were fantastic @MarinaPurkiss , a performance to be proud of. Despite being overwhelmed by a barrage of carefully curated populist trash you held your ground and then fought back brilliantly.
@ecraep1k@carolvorders At least you received a reply. My MP is Paul Scully, a Tory, and it's easier to find a four leaf clover than it is to get a non-stock email response or an appointment to his supposed surgery slots.
@MarinaPurkiss Marina, it's truly fascinating how quickly you can tear apart the opposing arguments being placed which are in support of Brexit.
I suppose it's got to the point now that the supposed Brexit Benefits are a "Greatest Hits" collection that get rolled out now.
Harrowing words from a senior emergency medicine doctor showing the despair at not being able to provide the level of care every doctor hopes to for their patients. Every doctor, nurse & HCW can empathise with this right now.
Shared w/ permission. Pls RT to get this out there.
@MarinaPurkiss This is brilliant! It's had me cacking for the past 5 minutes - the carefully choreographed hat handling is something I need to record somewhere and remind myself how silly we humans can sometimes be.
@BBBYetAgain@reallorraine Mate, you're a little out of your depth! Lorraine was investigated by HMRC due to IR35 joke legislation. She didn't defraud anyone, rather she defended herself against what is essentially a regressive tax setup. I'm all for people paying their fair share of tax but look up IR35
