@SpaceWalkerReal I mean Apple isn't a monopoly, they have plenty of competition all across their stack, Intel (currently) has more power efficient chips, Linux and Windows compete on the OS, and Google offers(IMO) better services (and they also compete with Apple in the lower layers of the stack)

@mathsboi42 I would argue Cohere's recent model releases are comparable in quality to Chinese models of a similar size, cohere just hasn't released any massive chonker models like some of the Chinese labs have

@mathsboi42 I am personally more hopeful here because I believe that open source catching up to mythos would be very good because people developing apps and whatnot will be able to secure them, instead of getting hacked in the first place
