@garrytan@danheld Maybe we just planned poorly by letting all the business concentrate in too small an area. Maybe we should have insisted on more residential and forced commercial to spread out.

@cullenroche Who said tariffs were positive for the stock market? The downturn in stocks is expected, the bond market getting ripped is not. IMO the bond market is the one to watch and be concerned about.
@cullenroche People want to be able to afford a house on a full time job that doesn’t require a long college education or high degree of intelligence. Because it once was the case, they are convinced that job is a “manufacturing job”. That’s it. That is the problem.
@fed_speak “Manufacturing job” is seen as a job that pays well enough to afford a modest home but that you don’t need to go to college for or be particularly smart to perform.
That’s the job middle America is looking for.
