ADELAIDE — In a stunning display of Transparency™, Comrade Albanese spent an entire soft-focus ABC interview refusing to confirm he attended a private Point Piper dinner hosted by the son of a Chinese high-roller currently entangled with the Tax Office.

When asked about the $1 million pledge, the father’s alleged money-funnelling, or why former Premier Dan Andrews was spotted the next morning at the Lee family’s Terrey Hills golf club, Albo simply repeated the sacred mantra: “I attend lots of functions.”

Meanwhile the same regime that shrieked about Gina Rinehart buying access for One Nation somehow sees nothing wrong with Wagyu eye fillet and finger-lime ceviche in a $40 million harbourside mansion.

Critics fail to appreciate the sophisticated fundraising model that delivered premium Wagyu eye fillet to the people’s champion.

The ABC, as always, asked the tough questions with the appropriate level of respect.

I watched Elon Musk’s interview with The Economist and heard him claim 250,000 girls were systematically raped by grooming gangs in the UK. It sounded too monstrous to be real, so I did what I always do. I went to check the receipts myself.

I wish I hadn’t. It is worse than the number.

A warning first. If this kind of thing enrages you, if you have children, if you do not have the stomach for it today, stop reading here. You do not have to carry it.

Honesty first, because I do not post numbers I cannot defend. The 250,000 figure is not a documented count. It is an extrapolation scaled up from local cases. Here is the hard truth though: it might be accurate, and it might even be low. Nobody can say, because there has never been a full national audit or an investigation of every town. The number is unproven precisely because the country has refused to go looking for it. That refusal is its own answer.

Here is what the government’s investigations did find. The 2014 Jay Report: in Rotherham alone, at least 1,400 children sexually exploited over sixteen years, and that was the conservative estimate. Baroness Casey’s 2025 national audit confirmed the same pattern across Rochdale, Oxford, Oldham, Telford. Nearly 19,000 children flagged as exploitation victims in England in a single year. The Met is re-examining 9,000 cases. No one knows the true total, because for decades the people paid to count deliberately did not.

Both reports found the convicted offenders in these networks were Pakistani Muslim men. And officials avoided recording that fact out of fear of being called racist. Let that land. They stayed silent about who was doing it because they feared an accusation more than they feared the abuse. Girls as young as eleven were written off as troubled teenagers making lifestyle choices. The system did not fail to see it. It chose not to look.

Then the punishment. Some got what Britain calls serious sentences. Shabir Ahmed, the Rochdale ringleader, 22 years for 30 counts of child rape. Others 35. In much of America a single count could mean life. There, 30 counts draws 22 years, and then they let you out early.

Ahmed served 14 years and walked free this July, shielded from the deportation his victims were promised by a 1971 immigration loophole. Several offenders held dual British-Pakistani citizenship, which is exactly why removal was promised and exactly why the failure to deliver it is so damning. Qari Abdul Rauf served two and a half years of six and is still in Rochdale, seen shopping in the town where he abused children. Adil Khan, who impregnated a 13-year-old, called his case racist and a laughing matter in court and argued he should stay because his son needs a role model.

And the coldest part. For years the trouble was not the abuse. It was talking about it. Britain’s speech laws have only tightened since, with people jailed over social media posts, one woman handed 31 months for a single tweet. A nation that struggled for a decade to jail child rapists moves overnight to jail citizens for the wrong words online.

That is the whole sickness. Rape a child and you may serve half a soft sentence and stroll home. Post the wrong thing about it and the state finds its spine.

So make the sentences serious and mean it. Deport who can be deported. Protect the people exposing this, not the institutions that buried it. And count them. Every town, every case, no matter what the number turns out to be.

Failed by their abusers, the councils, the police, the courts, and a state more offended by a tweet than by their suffering. Every betrayal preventable.

These are children. Say it out loud, whatever it costs, because the silence is what let it happen.

Thank you, Elon, for the reminder that when something sounds too awful to be true, the only responsible thing is to go check the receipts yourself. The number was unproven. What sat underneath it was worse. 🦋

Reality Denied

Elon Musk’s interview with The Economist exposed a political absurdity: basic common sense now sounds radical because the elite progressive left has spent years treating reality as a nuisance rather than a guide. Secure borders, safe streets, fiscal restraint, and institutional competence are not fringe positions. They are the minimum requirements of a serious society.

That is why the debate has become so warped. Too much of the progressive left now operates in a post-factual universe, where ideology is treated as evidence and evidence is treated as negotiable. In that environment, ordinary standards of order and accountability are recast as oppression, while failure is excused with slogans.

The same argument would be celebrated as wisdom if Obama made it and denounced as extremism when Trump does.

The result is a public discourse detached from consequences. If you point out that uncontrolled migration strains public services, that crime affects working families first, or that governments cannot borrow and spend forever, you are no longer making a practical argument. You are accused of hostility, ignorance, or worse.

Musk’s real value in this conversation is not that he is universally right. Which he is. It is that he forces the confrontation between reality and rhetoric. And once that confrontation happens, the weakness of the left’s worldview becomes obvious: it can explain feelings, but it cannot reliably explain facts.

The middle of the political spectrum has not become more extreme. The left has simply moved so far from reality that common sense now looks like rebellion.

From January there’s a new payment called administrative assistance funding. $7,500 for every MP, every quarter. $3,750 for every senator, every quarter. Paid in advance.

The first payment is due before 7 January 2027, covering a quarter that began on 1 October 2026 and will already have finished by the time the money lands. Across 151 House seats and 76 Senate seats that is $1,417,500 a quarter. $5,670,000 a year. $30,000 per MP, annually, from you.

Election funding rises at the same time to $5 per vote, indexed twice a year, allocated on how well you polled last time. To receive any of it you must hold at least one sitting seat. No seat, nothing. Ever. In fairness, public funding does reduce reliance on private donors, and independents with a seat qualify on the same terms as parties.

But run the sequence. A new party contests an election with zero public funding, against parties drawing millions in public funding, under donation caps that stop it raising the private money to close the gap.

Private money capped. Public money increased. Distributed only to the people who already won.
Labor and the Coalition passed it together in February 2025. The crossbench called it a stitch-up and lost the vote. It was announced as integrity reform.

THE LABOR MONEY LOOP.

Let me show you how the loop works. Every figure here is from the AEC register.

Step one. The unions donate directly to Labor. The CFMEU has given Labor $2,788,155 across its various divisions. The Communications, Electrical and Plumbing Union: $2,861,140. The Electrical Trades Union: $2,044,650. The Australian Workers Union: $988,191. Total union direct donations to Labor across all years in the primary data: $18,457,271.

Step two. Labor wins government. The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, a Labor-controlled ministry, paid the ACTU $10,577,005 in 2024-25. In 2023-24 it paid them $6,465,199. The Department of Industry paid them another $963,998 in 2024-25. Total government payments to the ACTU across all years in the register: $20,790,026.

Step three. The ACTU spends the money on elections. In 2024-25 the ACTU spent $5,425,881 on electoral expenditure. In 2018-19, the year Labor needed to win, the ACTU spent $20,808,774 on electoral campaigns. Total ACTU electoral expenditure across all years, $34,345,497.

The unions fund Labor. Labor funds the ACTU. The ACTU campaigns to re-elect Labor. The government then funds the ACTU again.

Now I’ll carry the other argument, because that’s how I do things. The government payments to the ACTU are for legitimate workplace relations services, safety programs, Fair Work representation, training. The electoral spending comes from member fees, not government grants. These are legally separate streams and the ACTU is not the only organisation that receives government contracts while also engaging in advocacy.

But here is the structural question the data raises.

The same organisation that receives $10.5 million from a Labor government in one year spends $5.4 million backing Labor’s re-election in the same year. No individual needs to pick up a phone. No instruction needs to be given. The incentive structure does the work automatically.

And the unions that built the financial pipeline to Labor in the first place have donated $18.4 million directly to the party across the full dataset.

This is not a conspiracy. It is a financial architecture. It is in the public register. And it has been operating for decades.

None of it is illegal. That’s the problem.
