I spoke to a transfer portal player who was at a D2 school. He earned 24 credits but didn’t touch the field. I asked him about the possibility of coming to play with us. He said he didn’t want to go backwards. I asked him how was going from a situation where he didn’t play to a situation where he’d have the potential to play every day was backwards. He didn’t have an answer.

Kids aren’t being given the right guidance on “opportunity.” If you want to play, go where they want you to play. If being a part of something is important to you, go where you get that opportunity! There’s so many available options! But what’s backwards is choosing to NOT play over choosing to PLAY
