Let me remind you once again:
unless we have validated theories of human consciousness, we should remain agnostic about AI consciousness.
anyone who claims AI is conscious or not is simply making things up.
“By turning the mental health conversation into an ideological litmus test, social media has trained users to look outward for political targets to blame for their internal distress, rather than looking inward with the rigorous, critical, and objective self-scrutiny that true psychological integration demands.”

Jung’s concept of Synchronocity (“meaningful coincidences”) is the closest anyone has come to lay a foundation for topics like astrology.
However, it is important to blend curiosity with skepticism in an endeavour to understand the origins of such fields of study. A lot of people enter with their minds already made up about whether these topics (like astrology) are either bogus or legit.
"Should the art be separate from the artist?"
I don't know.
What I do know is that you can significantly improve your ability to learn from people if you develop the cognitive skill of separating the art from the artist.
Get proficient in English
Study communicational logic & philosophy (critical thinking and emotional resilience)
Practice theatre/music/one sport (ideally something that you do with a group)
For higher education - interdisciplinary fields like cognitive science & liberal arts
What advice should one give to kids to prepare for the future?
I used to think mastering basics of physics, math, cs is the way to go but now I’ve updated my belief as these fields will get automated soon.
What we need kids to learn is personality traits like grit, resourcefulness, optimism, resilience, etc.
@SnorlaxAFK@slvrbkgodzilla@ThePrintIndia@vrinda_tulsian@Surajbisht25 1 ok, thanks, will look into the research/stats again
2 That was never my proposition (strawman)
To reframe it: a societal hyper-focus on a self-proclaimed gender identity over character-based identity (built over years of effort and actions) makes the word "identity" shallow
@SnorlaxAFK@slvrbkgodzilla@ThePrintIndia@vrinda_tulsian@Surajbisht25 He's on about
-minors making irreversible medical decisions,
-concept of "identity" becoming meaningless (instead of being based on one's character, habits, values, virtues),
-pharmaceutical companies exploiting a social trend,
- people with dicks entering women toilets
“If you’re existentially depressed, your recovery isn’t gonna come from medications or cognitive behavioural therapy.
Existential problems require existential solutions.”
