@emiliewapnick What a fantastic perspective undercutting the anxiety of changing social behaviors. I know I struggle with identifying as something that changes, and this provides the security that I, and probably many more, need. Thank you Emily!
@emilymcenroe@Casey I am withholding excitement until confirmation of this picture’s reality...but either way it makes me happier than puppies...than puppies do, I could not be happier than puppies.
@ambernoelle Oohhoho, man. This hits home for me, hard. By my early teens, (neé early 90s) I could already quote and critique 80s movies like I was 35. I dunno if this has helped/hurt me socially, or indeed emotionally; but the fact still remains. My mind was filled w/ stuff before its time.
Enlightenment Pill #004(?) - Humans love two things more than anything in the world: 1) To break the Universe into as many little pieces as possible; and 2) To forget that we did that.
The Allness is not two things.
Consciousness is.
Put them back together.
Enlightenment Pill - #002 - The necessary difference between reactions and responses is the moment of silence that occurs before a response is CHOSEN. Responses end conflicts; reactions perpetuate them.
Dating needs another level, hear me out. Exchanging numbers with a cutie, eating food, watching a show together; that’s great. But who’s up for somehow establishing a base level trust before building a cabin in the woods together? If after a month there’s no spark? No problem.
It seems to me our biggest mistake as a capitalist society, was not in choosing that material objects bring us happiness; but rather our misattribution of the cause of our happiness to the object, and not the choosing of it.
@tferriss Is it syntactical fascism to say it’d be clearer as: “Our minds, like our stomachs...”? Let’s put our focus where focus needs putting, but not like, in a dicky way.

Might it be better to tend the land somewhere, make it a home;- maybe even make a home there;- and then leave it? “Better” than when you found it for you having been there. The garden now open for the love of another.
Is this just me?
