As a full back, how do you genuinely stop Doku?
He can go inside or outside. He is likely faster than you. He is likely stronger than you. He can use both feet.
Unbelievable.
I think Chelsea will miss a trick next season if they ignore using a dynamic 3-4-3 (box midfield) formation, which can evolve into different shapes like Tuchel used at Chelsea or Inzaghi at Inter. We are so built for it.
Reece and Hato/Cucurella can be RCB and LCB and capable of jumping into midfield to support midfielders.
We have Caicedo-Enzo and Santos, Essugo for the pivot.
Wing-backs can be Neto, Quenda, Garnacho, Hato, Acheampong, or Reece. We have a lot of options.
Narrow 10s: Palmer and Estevao as right-sided 10s, and Jackson and Joao Pedro as left-sided 10s.
Strikers: Jackson, Joao Pedro, Delap, or Emegha.
Why I love this system? When it's flexible and dynamic enough like Tuchel's and Inzaghi's is that it gives the players easy responsibilities while maintaining a solid balance.
The defensive 5 focus on the defence, and the attacking 5 focus on the attack. People don't wander to wonderland on the pitch and forget their responsibilities.
Also, it gives you opportunity to have 3 CBs at a time and easily have a lot of players in the opposition box. But you need WBs with good legs to make it happen. I think that's where we can work the market.
To be honest, I think if we go this direction, we won't need to overspend to fix this squad (I only used one new signing, Hecke to form the lineup) and the balance looks incredible.
What do you think?
