Where do we think these Mad Max comments are coming from?
1.) Weird looking biker-like characters?
2.) An action sequence that takes place in the desert?
3.) Pulled from a press junket description?
Craig Gillespie’s #Supergirl is a great follow-up to #Superman. It’s got the underdog rock 'n' roll attitude of Guardians of the Galaxy mixed with the grimy ruthlessness of a Mad Max movie. Tonally it’s a unique concoction, but it works!
It’s a film about fighting for those who show up for us, and as cliche as it sounds, it also reinforces the idea that home is where the heart is.
Milly Alcock brings a sort of aloofness and melancholy to the role that helps create emotional depth. If Corenswet’s Superman believes in everyone, she believes in no one. Momoa’s Lobo is used just enough that you’re satisfied but also want to see more. And the moments we get with Superman further prove why David Corenswet is the perfect choice to portray him.
It’s a solidly entertaining DC adventure that brings another fresh look from James Gunn and Co. I’ve always been a big champion of Gunn and his vision for DC, and this movie only reinforces why I’m excited about where this universe is headed.
I really hate how proud CBM fans seem to be in their aggressive ignorance.
Interesting dialogue??? Nah, give me ham fisted exposition, which I will also judge.
okay so jokes aside why is the fourth Holland Spider-Man movie looking so much better then the other three, even the costume is a huge improvement. it can't actually be "tom holland forced them to make the movie good" there has to be something else going on behind the scenes
It is very clear that the intention with watchmen was to present the idea that people who partook in vigilantism would have issues and a superhero would be completely disconnected from humanity
Finally! I think Moore’s views of Rorschach soured some bc of how ppl idolized the character but I do think he intended for him to be nuanced.
He’s not too dissimilar from The Comedian in that regard. Terrible ppl but w/ far more dimensions of humanity than expected from comics.
This is an accurate description of the movie and this is coming from someone who loves it.
I can easily see how someone who didn’t connect with it as much as I did viewing it this way because that’s essentially what it is and that’s perfectly fine.
This movie is just pretty mid. Not great but definitely not bad either. The fight scenes are great, score is great, and looks good. There is some questionable dialogue and does get pretty boring at times but not a bad movie at all
Someone is going to have to explain to me what's wrong with this sequence because I've never quite understood the problem beyond the fact that it's obviously more VFX looking than previous Indy films would have been.
But it’s a very real dichotomy. I don’t blame fans because ultimately it was the various writers who made them view the character this way. But man fans ARE attached to the mascot version of the character 🤷🏾♂️
@WeWuzPostin The character/mascot dichotomy that has been invented here on twtr is such a horseshit way to find new ways to make Superman fans feel bad about themselves. Why don’t you just go read Doom Patrol or something and shut up
I don’t think they work best animated, you can just adhere to the way they are initially presented better. Animations are just moving illustrations.
But the best live action comic book movie far exceeds the best animated one imo
There is no such thing as, "comic book essence". This is romanticizing a specific narrative approach to telling stories with these characters. Comic books as a form have no, "essence" because comic books, as a form, do not represent this one thing.
In general, people have trouble with characters being more than a collection very specific phrases and/or personality traits.
You need to hit the beats or else you’ll get accused of making them “act out of character”.
Oh no, I fucked up ended up on religious x.
I take back everything I said. Be the 5-star general of chore duty so your wife finds you attractive. This is the way.
I don’t need your weird Christian cronies to school me on anything, that actually explains why you’re so misguided. You guys are either comically misogynistic or placate to the whims of women’s manipulation.
Never said any such thing. It's the "you hate waffles" meme.
"Women find it attractive when men take initiative." I didn't say any of the other things you're claiming I said.
@GiffLasta, help this poor guy.
🤣 Hey, it’s a learned belief. You think the reason there are “dead bedrooms” is because men just won’t take command of chores. Women play no part in their own bedrooms, just men.
You’re implying it though yes, the reason you keep framing everything around what women find attractive is because you’re trying to manipulate men into doing things on the basis that women will find them more attractive if they do it. Which will never be the case.
