If you're starting out, I hope you will find it helpful and would love to hear what you think!

👋 I’m keen to jump on a call with all you amazing product people out there. I want to learn about wins and some of your learnings over your career in designing, developing or product managing.
Drop a note here if you’d be keen for a chat. I’d greatly appreciate a share 🤓👍
I'm looking to hire a UI/UX Designer rather urgently for my team. All I care about are your design principles, and not any degree. Share your portfolio, and your thoughts about good SaaS designs with me. We'll go from there...
I live in the state of Washington but I will absolutely never apply to any company that excludes applicants from various states for _remote roles_ just as a way to avoid laws that require them to share salary ranges for those roles if hiring from those certain states.
OK, #UX and #UI freelancers...we need to talk about money (a thread).
Specifically, I want to rid you of the biggest and wrongest and most widely circulated myth in business:
That PRICING is the most important competitive factor in business success.
Because it ISN'T.

“UX/UI Director” 🙄
“10+ years of experience” 👍
“Help set the strategic UX vision” 🤔
“We will only consider candidates who apply via our website” 🤨
“Will produce wireframes, flows, visuals” 🚩
“Portfolio demonstrating artistic ability” 🤦♂️🚩🚩
“Test designs without users” 🤬🚫

@DougCollinsUX I’ll go from the perspective of client that I pitched for - it was a middle ground of a few background areas of mine, product, accessibility, and disability, and the team I was working with was doing really innovative stuff for the space they’re in.
I reviewed UX Writing portfolios this week. After doing this for a few years, here's a tip that applies to 8 in 10 UX Writers looking for work:
Your portfolio isn't the problem. Your cover letter and resumé are. Applying is the start of a dialog. You need to own your story.
