@simonateba I wish we could just be people! People that see people with intrinsic value instead of seeing themselves or others as villains or victims based not on their actions but on color, culture, gender, or religion.
@SenSanders *almost* 😅 come on, Bern. Let’s not take food from any child while also not acting like we aren’t incredibly privileged with a play on words
@alexbruesewitz 1000% these conversations are essential. The American people need to be reminded of the benefits and growth that come from civil discourse and mutual respect! Actively listening without occupying your mind with fancy rebuttals, one liners and empty talking points destroys us.
The fact that peaceful coexistence triggers so many negative comments proves why it is so important these diplomatic encounters and discussions continue to build relationships forward. I suspect many are bots. As an actual human who cares about this world and ALL peoples inhabiting, I want nothing more than peaceful coexistence, as most Americans do. I’d love to see a world where we can all agree that we have the right not only to coexist, but to thrive, and embrace the value and beauty of rich cultural histories different from our own. My message especially to our brothers and sisters in the east, is that we are ready to see this world become a reality.
When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.
Funny enough, the OTHER Rhode Island senator @SenJackReed made a pretty decent argument, so THANK YOU for acknowledging we aren’t idiots, and providing data & substance instead of the mockery others continue to make of elected offices! I still disagree with you, and think benefits far outweigh the risks -or inconveniences- but #respect @gop@TheDemocrats
Senator for Rhode Island didn’t think to check the dates on his stats 🤣 his argument against voter ID was that @gop knows they won’t lose if only citizens with an ID can vote it’s embarrassing honestly. can we get an honest and legitimate answer as to why @democrats don’t want voter ID? And can we actually have hearings and committee meetings that don’t involve posturing and sound bites and actually discuss the topics at hand? #saveamericaact

@AOC@MAGACult2@MollyJongFast Thank you for clarifying this! I could not imagine why it would be struck down but this makes perfect sense. More work to do
