Also they have a theatre background which makes it feel like they really from that period. For instance when you watch Ralph Fiennes in 1800s film you think he's somehow part of what they're portraying and same with the modern times. He/they/she just adapt in their surroundings

The problem with (white) Australians and Americans acting in period pieces is that their nations are very new in a historical sense, so they're always very modern-behaving. In other countries, we still have cultural ways of being that are very old and our actors can employ that.
