While I’m on the subject of Sami Zayn. I knew about Sami before I met him but had never heard him speak but nor had anyone really apart from him saying Ci. I knew he was a brilliant talent but thought he may struggle with the talking. Happy that I was wrong and he ace’d the promos on his try out. That made me think of my own path. I spent 9-1/2 years wrestling in other countries before I came to the US. I never did one wrestling promo as is favored in the US, just press conference style talking. I found the US form very hard and I was very uncomfortable talking on camera. My old friend Tony Schivane set up a camera for me on any day off I had in the CNN center in Atlanta. I spent minimum of 8 hours at a time just talking then watching it back to see and listen to how I sounded. With 3 months WCW we’re having me cut promos on TV. Then I changed to being Lord Steven. I wasn’t one bit comfortable for the next two years with the voice as I was putting on a posh English accent and I don’t have one. It wasn’t until 2-1/2 years later in 1996 after 100’s of promos that I felt like I found Lord Steven’s voice. Constant work, failure in my mind, then something that I felt worked. This gig isn’t easy and never will be but the more you put in the more chances you have of keeping the gig.
Prince was such a massive fan of THE MUPPETS, he asked if he could host the Muppets Tonight show in 1997, leading to one of the rare instances we saw a more comedic version of himself instead of the quiet and reserved persona fans were used to 😂👏
NEW LONG FORM VIDEO: Why Cartoon Network went from 100 million homes to off the air
Back in 2011, Cartoon Network was in more than 100 million homes. It was one of the most sought-after places to work in entertainment and routinely outperformed competitors like Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. For an entire generation, it was the home of some of the most beloved animated shows ever made.
But by 2024, its audience had collapsed. Daily viewership had fallen to just 74,000 people, and the network as most people knew it effectively disappeared from the air.
And while it’s easy to blame the internet, Netflix, or YouTube for Cartoon Network’s downfall, the truth is much more complicated. The seeds of its decline were planted years before streaming ever took over.
This is the rise and fall of Cartoon Network.
Masters Of The Universe fucking sucks & has an identical writing style to a Taika Waititi film but that just means the best He-Man content of all time is no longer the gayest lets go
This was extremely poor writing on Lucas's part but if you roll with it, it's actually hilarious. Imagine - you're Darth Vader, and one day a banged-up freighter flies into your doomsday station's hangar and it's carrying your son, your daughter, your astromech droid, the protocol droid you personally built as a child and your master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Everything rhymes; you can feel the inexorable tides of fate that reunited everyone at this moment; the Force is strong...
... except for the truck driver in the vest. But hey. Maybe even the Force isn't above taking an Uber to get everyone together instead of tracking down some Special Fated Person, right?
Yeah. Yeah that's what you said. "Nah. THAT one is coincidence," you said, and then the NEXT DAY he pops up in a souped up 18 wheeler and shoots you, one of the greatest fighter pilots in the galaxy, square in the ass before your snot-nosed kid blows your uberstation to hell and gone and now you're flying around trying to get a signal, knowing that there's gonna be one hell of a chat with Palpatine once you do, and you're still wondering *who the hell was that fucker in the vest!?*
@JoeMashups There was a big move or spot I don’t remember and rey just says, “eeeeeehhhhh” . He comments like he’s studying tapes or someone asked him to watch their match for feedback. Doesn’t really work for tv.
CREEPSHOW was released 44 years ago today.
One of the film’s most memorable segments features Leslie Nielsen burying his victims up to their necks on a beach before the tide rolls in, creating one of the movie’s most disturbing & iconic horror set pieces.
A thread I posted on Facebook yesterday. Part 1:
Today, Adam Carolla gets his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Twenty years ago, I moved to Mid-City Los Angeles for a new radio gig. I was the new Technical Producer for The Adam Carolla Radio Show.
I mean it when I say Will Sasso’s Jesse Ventura impression is one of the great impressions. It’s on a list with some greats like Frank Caliendo’s John Madden, Jay Mohr’s Christopher Walken, and Dan Soder’s Macho Man.
“..a chemical accident” 😂😂😂

This film is the reason why the 'Best Makeup' category was created at the Oscars. John Hurt’s transformation was so impactful that the Academy, facing public backlash for not having an award to honor it, officially established the category the following year.
