I grew up Republican. Still am in many ways. But MAGA pushed the party so far right that I get called a liberal now.
Let me explain the difference:
Traditional Republicans believe in:
• Fiscal responsibility (balanced budgets, not exploding deficits for tax cuts)
• Limited government (actual small government, not big government that punishes your enemies)
• Strong institutions (courts, elections, constitutional norms matter)
• Personal responsibility (your actions have consequences)
• Free markets (not tariffs and trade wars)
• Strong alliances (NATO, international partnerships)
• Rule of law (no one is above it, including the president)
MAGA Republicans believe in:
• Whatever Trump says today (even if it contradicts yesterday)
• Loyalty tests (agree 100% or you're a traitor/RINO)
• Conspiracy theories over facts (stolen election, deep state, QAnon adjacent stuff)
• Grievance politics (owning the libs > actual policy)
• Personality cult (Trump loyalty above party, above country, above truth)
• Performative outrage (culture war theater instead of governance)
• Ends justify means (storm the Capitol, ignore election results, whatever it takes)
I didn't move left. The party moved off a cliff.
I still believe in conservative principles. But when you say "maybe we should respect election results" or "fiscal responsibility matters" or "rule of law applies to everyone," you get called a liberal.
That's not conservatism. That's a cult.
50-49: Republicans, by one vote, chose to keep Trump’s insurrectionist slush fund dream alive.
After they fumbled around for hours, we needed just one more Republican to muster the courage to end Trump’s taxpayer handout to cop beaters and felons.
As per usual, they were spineless.

Despite being under Republican control, the House just defied President Trump on the Iran war.
No amount of lying or bullying by the White House can make Americans forget we're paying for a senseless war.
Now even some GOP Members of Congress are recognizing they ultimately answer to us - not him.
Keep up the pressure.
Kyle Kulinski: “Jake Tapper wrote a motherfucking book about Joe Biden and his cognitive decline and the massive cover-up. Well Jake, why don’t you get to work on your Trump book now because I guarantee you the cover-up that’s happening with him is way worse and way more severe and they’re covering more extreme stuff. His body is failing and his mind is failing on a regular basis”
@TheUfoJoe I love the fall release too. I take the day off work, go to the mall (deserted during weekdays) and I never go to malls anymore. Get a pretzel & a coffee, pick up my copy from barns & noble and enjoy!
Bari Weiss and her wife are in the Epstein files. Weiss’s wife was VERY close to Epstein, so much so that she shared with Epstein her first encounter with. See her wife’s enthusiasm to meet Epstein here. In 2018. When everyone already knew he was a pedophile.
Rep. Olszewski to Marco Rubio: "I may have to get you a new pair of glasses because the facts are right in front of you, and it seems like malpractice for the Secretary of State to not be able to see this president and his family enriching themselves by billions of dollars."
@harryjsisson I seriously cannot wait til the day one of these reporters throws it right back at him, I know I would. Contrary to what I’m sure many think may happen, I think ultimately it would help their career. Like the 1st one to tell that inhuman scumbag off becomes a folk hero
@HBendaas And she had the audacity to tell us what needed to stop. Street whores don’t get to tell the rest of us what we should and should not care about. That cunt is just as bad as the inhuman scum bag
Scott Pelley issues new statement after being fired by CBS for opposing their pro-MAGA bias:
“New management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them.
Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done.
Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.”
