What makes some people better at trivia than others?
in one of the most insane multi-year "research is mesearch" journeys ever, we (me + @_laurenwilkins_ + @mariam_s_aly ) ran a study to answer this very question! https://t.co/znIqZyXbby check it out!! 1/ 🧵
My dept is hiring! The Psychology Department at Carleton College invites applications for a new tenure-track assistant professor. We are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise is in the psychological study of underrepresented groups and diverse perspectives (1/)
How do search engines decide what results to show us? Do these decisions impact how we view social issues? In a new paper (https://t.co/T6L2CzAY5C) @vlasceanu_mada and I found that Google propagates collective climate change concern, impacting people’s policy endorsements. (1/4)

@BenedekKurdi @aw_gilmore @Kat_McD_ Thanks! Hope you like the paper! And curious about your thoughts on it. The phenomenology of memory/imagination is so truly interesting, and I feel fortunate to have contributed in a small way. 🙂
Well, I finally get to be first on academic byline. 🙂 In our just-published paper, @aw_gilmore, Ruthie Shaffer, @Kat_McD_, and I ask: Do people have their own idiosyncratic tendencies to visually experience memories and future thoughts? https://t.co/6Wf9kmKwLt (1/9)
Our findings confirm a long-standing and integral, but untested, assumption in the literature on individual differences in (and related to) mental time travel: People tend to be consistent in how they visually experience their memories and thoughts about the future. 🤔💭 (9/9)
Importantly, across sessions (in both experiments), visual perspective and vividness demonstrated good-to-excellent stability—even at the longest gap between sessions (8 weeks). That is, visual perspective and vividness were (at least partially) trait-like tendencies! (8/9)
My new paper is out @SPSSI! From a decolonial and system justification perspective, @JohnJost1, @mosaicultural and I, uncover the role of internalization of inferiority and system justification in the political status dilemma of P.R. among Puerto Ricans. https://t.co/dThTcoOZF1
