There aren't all that many places where you can still drive through covered bridges. When you come across one, you should drive through and see what's on the other side!
Driving through this 1852 covered bridge in West Arlington, VT was like traveling 175 years into the past ๐งต
Oh, and you're back to popularity again! My minority views are wrong because the majority say so. So racism can be good if the majority of the world says so. The belief that some races are inferior is probably the consensus in the world, but I will continue to follow the Christian teaching that we're all equal โค๏ธ
@HarryNockz@darwintojesus Abortion kills a human fetus. You may have some personal definition of the word killing, but no matter how you phrase it, abortion causes a living human to stop living. A culture can decide it's okay to kill certain humans, but that will never make it morally good.
You said medical ethics aren't popularity, but you're screenshot showed voting is part of the process.
A great example of how these fail, but objective morality based on Christian ethics prevails is the pediatric trans movement. It had all the momentum in the medical field. Then medical authorities in other countries realized the actual harm it does, and just pulled back and in soft cases completely reversed their stances. I'm confident it will come back here as well and we will revert back to acknowledging humans cannot change from man to woman, as stated in the Bible and confirmed by science.
So you're arguing subjective morality then, if you're talking about evolving ethics. In that framework, burning witches is fine if the culture says it's fine. (It never was the norm in any era, but that's beside the point)
Christian ethics say there are things which are right and wrong, which is proven by so many universal stances throughout humanity. We don't pretend we all live up to the standard. Quite the opposite. We openly acknowledge we can't, which is why we all need a savior. We can, however, recognize that God gave us rules that help us find happiness.
@HarryNockz@darwintojesus We all look for the government to protect against killing humans. Some of us admit we are human from conception. We don't have rights to do whatever we want. If you've already had an abortion, you can't undo it. You can be forgiven
He Jesse! Great video. I completely agree that we shouldn't be comparing our fruit to others or bragging about our accomplishments. I wanted to point out that Jesus did say to do what you're talking about in Matthew 7. We know who is following Jesus by their fruits (verse 16). God bless you brother
That wasn't your argument before, but let's go with that.
"Medicine" doesn't determine morality. Scientific knowledge has proven what we couldn't prove before modern medicine. For instance, the unborn have unique DNA specific to that person. We've learned much about when those humans can feel pain, hear their mothers' voices, etc. Presuming "medicine" has all the answers today is folly, but all we've learned has reinforced the knowledge that abortion terminates human lives.
Apparently, I have a tradition of writing an entire book in one sitting in the last weekend of May. It took me a few days to remember to post Volume 2, but here it is.
I look forward to your scholarly criticism ๐
