Courage and faith can overcome overwhelming odds. David didn’t win with size or weapons he trusted what he had and stepped up when everyone else was too scared. Sometimes the giant in your life looks bigger than it actually is.
The disciples thought blindness was from sin, either theirs or their parents'.
The big thing to remember isn't that sin isn't there, because it is everywhere, but that not every problem is a direct punishment for something bad you did. Jesus says, "Look for God's purpose instead of pointing fingers."
Following Christ isn't easy. Changing your lifestyle means giving up things you actually enjoy, and the temptations don't just disappear. We are all flawed humans like everyone else, far from perfect, but we are choosing to follow Him anyway. It's a daily battle, but it's worth it.
John chapter 8, Jesus is talking to a crowd of Jews who believe in him. He tells them, if you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples, then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
The people push back, saying we're Abraham's descendants and we've never been slaves to anyone. How can you say we'll be set free?
Jesus replies, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Then he hits them with verse 36: So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
