I’ve now got a recording of my talk at the latest @lrug; this isn’t a talk on Ruby, it’s a talk about how experienced programmers solve problems, and what that means about how we think and communicate as human beings. I hope you enjoy it! 💖 https://t.co/3lv9JrbyBC
Mixin 0.8.5 released quickly yesterday to fix a problem with the JPMS module imports being incompatible with Minecraft 1.18.
This release also includes some AP improvements which were already in the snapshots. Release notes are here: https://t.co/PCfW89AQyf
@ThePaul_T Companion plugins are definitely on my list of "things which need documenting properly", though other than bugs the javadoc should be generally correct (I hope). You're always very welcome to poke me on discord if you have any questions
Should I be more proactive in announcing Mixin updates here? I don't know, but for the 3 of you who care: Mixin 0.8.4 was just released.
I wrote about the new stuff, and some bonus waffle about Local Capture: https://t.co/J4wqxzEHlc
Streaming Minecraft at 8PM (UK time) over at the usual place (https://t.co/lEhobGiRSX) because despite playing for yeeeears, I still haven't killed the Ender Dragon properly! Come say hi, I am legitimately kinda buzzing about getting this started!
@LanderFar LiteLoader is not open source so doing that would violate the license, it would also go against my wishes. LiteLoader has always been expressly Forge compatible and Fabric is incompatible with that.
I open-sourced LiteLoader's core in the form of Mixin, but the Loader is not OSS
@LexManos Depending on the size of hole you need to make. If you used a ¼" hex-drive drillbit you could use a combination of fixed & flexible ¼" extenders to get where you need perhaps?
Sometimes it can feel like the thing you're working on is complete and utter crap. These are four things you should remember, to remind you why you're not a good judge of character of your own work.
WLAN bridging, separate management networks, without this stupid custom hardware. I think it's going back to amazon. What a piece of shit. Fuck knows why anyone would even slightly think this was good shit. It's fucking awful.
Ah this is cool, been nominated for album of the year by the crew at @OfficialDUPLOC
If you fancy stickin a vote in for 2hrs Sleep then head over to - https://t.co/oq4yaoabzA
(Yeah I know everyone’s sick of voting but just imagine my little face this Christmas if I won🥳)
@bonusboni@voxcpw Thanks to modlauncher's built-in audit trail, transformers and mixins *do* show up in the stack trace, at least in crash reports. I held off releasing 0.8 until the audit trail functionality was fully integrated.
It's been a long journey but Mixin 0.8 is finally out of preview and released into the wild to roam free! I don't normally do release notes but so much has changed that I thought it was worthwhile.

In case anyone was wondering why I finally started joining discord. This is why. It also supports custom themes with a simple json file so if (like me) you find that modern aesthetic grey-on-grey "dark" modes aren't dark enough, you have freedom!
Here it is, at long last:
Ripcord, the cross-platform, not-a-web-browser desktop client for Slack (and Discord.) Shareware is back.
