@monibethh See, this is exactly the kind of behavior inauthentic behavior that has ya blocked. Don’t try to manipulate us! If you don’t post, then explain this!
@SteveCicirelli@bethmarcel@ShandersWrites Agree. It’s sincere. They truly want to read more from you. Editing is hard. Constant FOMO. Writing is hard and getting rejected is hard. But that letter sincerely conveys that the answer is not, “No;” it’s, “Not right now, but we hope really soon. Please do keep submitting.”
@PhilKlay Another feather in the cap, @PhilKlay! More proof your art is real and significant. Keep comforting the disturbed and disturbing the comfortable. You’re darn good at it and the world needs more of it.
@FluentMundo Mary Oliver: “Praying,” “Prayer,” “I Wake Close to Morning,” “At the River Clarion,” “The Poet Thinks About the Donkey,” and so many more. Her collection, DEVOTIONS, is a marvel.
@JABell27 I love this. I think it also applies more broadly. People want to be heard. Writers are merely blessed with the means to be able to pursue that desire in a way many are not.
@JThom7248 @PhilKlay One of my all-time faves. The good die young, and I sometimes mourn all that we don’t have from her because of how good all that we do have is.
It is exhausting to see people decrying Biden picking “a less qualified” or “unqualified” Black woman for SCOTUS, without even seeing who the nominee is. You are essentially saying that you think there is literally no Black woman in this country qualified to sit on the Court.
@amalieflynn I like this. Like “I am fully woke” for my current capacity for wokeness, a capacity capable of growing. “I am full of virtue” for my current capacity for virtue, a capacity capable of growing. And I am full of vice, but constantly trying to replace that capacity to make room!
