Today is 37 years since the Tiananmen Massacre
On this day in 1989, the Chinese Communist Party ordered the People's Liberation Army to open fire on its own citizens.
Peaceful pro-democracy students and workers who gathered in Beijing's Tiananmen Square demanding freedom, anti-corruption, and basic human rights were crushed under tanks and gunfire.
The protests began in mid-April 1989, triggered by the death of reformist leader Hu Yaobang. On May 13, students began a hunger strike. Martial law was declared on May 20, but protesters remained peaceful.
In the early hours of June 4, troops advanced with tanks and live ammunition. Soldiers fired on unarmed civilians blocking their path in the streets surrounding the square.
Hundreds to thousands were killed. Thousands more were imprisoned, tortured, or disappeared.
To this day, the Chinese government censors all mention of it, erases it from history books, and threatens anyone who remembers.
Went to the grocery store this morning
Bread, milk, eggs
$47.63
The screen asked if I'd like to round up to support a children's hospital
I pressed no
The cashier looked at me
The woman behind me looked at me
My wife looked at the ceiling
Again
This company made $14 billion last year
They can round up
Went to get gas after
The pump asked if I'd like to add $1 to support veterans
I support veterans
I pressed no
A $200 billion oil company asking me to fund their charity while I'm paying $3.89 a gallon
That's not philanthropy
That's outsourcing
Drove through for lunch
Taco Bell
The screen said "round up for education?"
A fast food company asking me to fund scholarships while paying their employees $11 an hour
I pressed no
My wife said "you know you're arguing with screens today"
She was right
But the screens started it
Went to the pharmacy
Picked up a prescription
$340 after insurance
The screen asked if I'd like to donate $1 to help families in need
I just paid $340 for a medication that costs $4 to manufacture
And now you want a dollar
I pressed no
The pharmacist said "it's just a dollar"
I said "it's never just a dollar"
She didn't respond
Got home
My wife said "you said no to a children's hospital, veterans, education, and families in need today"
I said "no. I said no to four corporations who want me to fund their goodwill so they can put it in their annual report"
She was quiet
Then she said "you're not wrong"
I said "I know"
She said "but you're still going to look like a monster"
I said "I'd rather look like a monster than quietly fund a billion-dollar company's PR strategy at the register"
She didn't disagree
But she didn't look at me either
Plz fix. Thx.

Reading Joseph’s story hit different when I realized he wasn’t just surviving his seasons. he was actually EXCELLING in them. Sold into slavery? Best slave. Thrown in prison on false charges? Best prisoner. He didn’t wait for his “Dream” to show up. He kept faith in God, made the best with what he had. which kept favor over his life. Most want favor but don’t put in work during the waiting season. that’s exactly where God is building the character that can hold what’s coming.
“One of the things that bothers me the most is when I’m trying to be intimate with God and someone is taking pictures of me.
I AM NOT AN ARTIST, I AM A WORSHIP LEADER!!!”
- Ron Kenoly warning to people taking pictures during worship. We have more artists than worship leaders today!!!
NEW: 13-year-old Australian boy swims for four hours in cold and dangerous waters to save his mom and siblings who were swept into the ocean, says God is who got him to shore.
The family was on kayaks & paddleboards when they were swept about 2.5 miles out to sea.
After a conversation with his mother, Austin Appelbee decided he would swim back to shore to find help.
Appelbee says he prayed throughout the four-hour swim and told God he would get baptized if he made it out alive.
"I don't think it was actually me [swimming]... It was God the whole time. I kept on praying, kept on praying. I said to God, 'I'll get baptized.'"
"The waves are massive, and I have no life jacket on… I just kept thinking 'just keep swimming, just keep swimming,'" he said.
"And then I finally made it to shore, and I hit the bottom of the beach, and I just collapsed."
Appelbee says when he got to shore, he had to sprint for about a mile to find help.
According to AP, the family drifted 9 miles from Quindalup and spent 10 hours in the water.
When he reached the shore, Appelbee alerted authorities, who then sent out a helicopter to find his mom, 12-year-old brother, and 8-year-old sister.
Austin's mother, Joanne Appelbee, said one of the hardest decisions of her life was sending her son to shore.
"One of the hardest decisions I ever had to make was to say to Austin: 'Try and get to shore and get some help. This could get really serious really quickly,'" she said.
What a remarkable kid.

In a recent interview, the President of El Salvador said:
“There is a spiritual war and there is a physical war, if you win the spiritual war it will reflect into the physical. Our victory is because we won the spiritual war”
To the question on how he changed El Salvador, he answered: “We pray”
El Salvador is now one of the safest country in the western hemisphere
Great News! 2026 began with a huge win in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals! The court honored the First Amendment and protected the ability of ministries and churches to hire staff aligned with their faith—even if the faith goes against secular ideology about marriage, sexuality, and gender. The ministries of @SamaritansPurse and @BGEA exist to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. That’s why it is essential that we hire people who share that faith and goal. Thank you to Yakima Union Gospel Mission and @ADFLegal for shining light on this issue and bringing much-needed clarity to the law. All faith-based ministries, thank you also! https://t.co/Vv41TbCfWi
Pray with me (I Timothy 5)

Heavenly Father,
You are the God of wisdom, order, and compassion. Help us to walk in a spirit of discernment and care. Teach us to treat one another as family…older men with respect, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women with purity of heart. Let our relationships reflect the love and dignity that come from You.
Give us hearts that honor those who serve faithfully, and grant us integrity in all matters of leadership and responsibility. Keep us from partiality or haste in judgment. Help us to live blamelessly, not just in public view but in the unseen places of our hearts.
Lord, make us generous toward those who are truly in need. Help us see the overlooked and carry their burdens with patience and humility. Let Your Church be marked by honor, truth, and holy discipline that protects and uplifts rather than condemns.
We thank You for Your perfect order, for the gift of leadership, and for the family of faith that You have made us part of. May our lives echo Your mercy and wisdom in every decision and every relationship.
In Jesus’ name, Amen!
