The Team Update: A Summer of Work for Urban Explorers

The main goal for this summer is to get our production lab running as a full cycle: from ordering new batches on a steady flow and improving the product on the go, to keeping the storefront stocked with available devices and running ads for the right audience.

Sales Geography Focus: Germany and the US
With product listings in these two countries, we're concentrating our sales efforts there. These are markets where people have the means, the time, and the curiosity to look for new tech hobbies — our top-priority audience at launch.

We Closed Last Year's Crowdfunding Campaign
We're now even more convinced: a global product, even if you're based in Cyprus, should be launched on Kickstarter — ideally for the second version of the product, having spent the year before filling up your social media.

There's also an idea to put our Indiegogo account to work — a platform better suited for an experiment like this one: raising funds for a water drone around the beaches of Cyprus. Water quality at the beaches is a topic that regularly stirs people up in a tourist destination. We're curious whether we can raise €10k+ to build and operate a water drone next summer — the data would flow to https://t.co/bRn9D2rEzj and could become a media source on Cyprus water in the summer of 2027.

We've Started Testing Altruist AQI (with Gas Analyzers)
Most Americans don't know what PM10 and PM2.5 are — for them, there's the Air Quality Index (AQI). Read up on how it works: it includes both particulate matter and specific gases. We've built an additional gas-analysis module for Altruist and have already shipped DEV kit sets to the first four customers.

Prototyping Altruist Pro
A version that needs neither Wi-Fi nor separate power — connected via PoE, just like outdoor cameras. We'll try out Meshtastic instead of Wi-Fi and mount 6–8 PoE-powered units, after which the Pro version will join the lineup.

Social Media and First Ad Tests
The team is working on creating and publishing video content for social media. This week, the first tests of vertical video ads on Instagram targeting Germany went live. The goal is to have the ad videos and profiles in a state by August 1 where we can confidently scale up the ad budget.
