@heyalexfriedman I’m sorry for your loss, but love how you’re turning it into a thing of value for others.
I’m coming through my own cancer diagnoses, and have turned all my research notes into a free resource for others in the same situation. Please share it freely:

Quote from a forest ranger at Yellowstone Park on why it is hard to develop a garbage bin to keep bears from breaking into it: "There is considerable overlap between the intelligence of the smartest bears and the dumbest tourists" 🤣🤣🤣
I try stay away from this topic best I can but holy mother...listening to her speak so matter of factly gave me actual chills. I know it's marketing for one side of a debate, but how far from the truth? Not far.
@erinlevine_ Hi. How many downturns would you like? I've lost count.
But a good point. A rising tide is the hardest time to evaluate if you're doing the right things. Navigating a market free fall teaches you much more as a founder.
@AndrewArruda@natalalleycat Exactly. Trick is to find the right metrics that can be continuously (and realistically) monitored around that idea. Need something you can study the trend of over time.
@natalalleycat Places I'd look for KPIs might be reach (geographical, population touched, etc.), impact (reduction of X, increase of Y), or influence (new legislation, decisions, new advocates and sponsors, etc.)
@natalalleycat Whatever they are they should be closer to the desired results and outputs of the org (objectives), and less so on the activity or inputs (the means to the output).
So, donations are essential and all, but if they get blown on too much admin they're not a good KPI.
The series on 🧊 continues! It’s been a huge learning experience trying to nail my vision for this series. It’s been difficult to have any foresight into what will happen, as the ice floats seem to always crack as I work on the piece, leaving a result I could have never imagined.
@CALLACBD Sincere thanks to @CALLACBD and @kimnayyer for having me present the pre-conference to their members today. I wish I could have seen all the faces and met some of you in person, maybe next time.
Enjoy the rest of the conference!
Promising beginning to #callacbd2022, in an excellent preconference workshop with @therealmattsims on data-driven decision making. Valuable learning for law practice, and for libraries too
