@Peter_Fitz You would think so, and yet every right wing pundit is posting that Dutton was too weak and left wing. Even some RWNJ’s calling for return of Abbott. They are on a path to oblivion.
@Peter_Fitz How long until Farnsy is cancelled by the loonie right and becomes another casualty of the culture wars. Spud will be frothing at the mouth after this.
@SouthPacific23@wokeasnotcooked@dbseymour The Court interprets the laws and measures them against the constitution, albeit that a combination of documented and case law in NZ. They have wide ranging powers to disallow legislation. All part of the checks and balances of democracy.
The Australien Government has made an ad about its whistleblower protection laws, and it’s surprisingly honest and informative.

@winstonpeters You are complaining about the comment being taken out of context yet you fail to provide a context in which the comment is reasonably explained. The fact that the Stuff journalist didn’t highlight it at the time is irrelevant; journos miss salient points all the time.
@LibertarianMaya Misleading. It was a trial in one health district that was trying to understand if prioritising people from disadvantaged groups (including Māori and Pacifika) lead to better outcomes for those people who have significantly worse outcomes overall. Race was one of many criteria.
@AlexanderDowner@JohnAndersonAC Just like the mining industry, or pharmacists do? Or do you mean they should stay out of politics only when their view differs from yours?
@OldAussieFarmer@JohnRuddick2 Why is it the opposite? Plenty of other groups have a voice; farmers, miners, business big and small, pharmacists, unions, etc. I don’t see it as divisive. If some govt dept in Canberra was making decisions for me I would want a say too. We can let them have a say and still be one
