1689 Baptists: baptism doesn't do anything, but if the thing that does nothing is done wrong then it has to be redone in order for the nothing it does to be done
@TheRhetorRick No it’s better to have the whole family worshipping together. Kids learn math, science, history, reading, etc. They can listen to a sermon.
@jared_555@ehenes@redeemed_zoomer I’m ARP and he goes back and forth about whether it’s schismatic or not. Frankly I’ve stopped caring, not gonna stall in my faith because of that.
Dispensationalism is an example of telling a lie so many times that you believe it. Now that Im out of that camp I’m amazed at the nonsense that it teaches. But I couldn’t see it before because it was taught by authoritative figures.
@virgilwalker A Church that prioritizes being Biblical asks what glorifies God, even if it doesn’t please man.
A Church that prioritizes being winsome asks what pleases man, even if it doesn’t glorify God.
If a man can make a credible profession, get baptized, and still turn out to be unregenerate, what does "regenerate church membership" actually guarantee? This isn't a "gotcha" question, I'm honestly asking.
Every time Israel turned its back on God in the Old Testament, God didn’t say “it’s okay, worship other gods, I’ll be here waiting.” He punished them, so why do we think modern Israel is sinless, infallible and has God’s special protection.
Evangelical Dispensationalist logic:
All Roman Catholics are heretics and going to Hell because of works based salvation.
Modern Israel rejects the Messiah but they’re “God’s chosen people for whom we must fight.”
