@elvisha9 We are working to build an alternative option for peer-reviewed medical publishing on a visual format against hundreds of years & billion$ worth of the status quo way. We feel researchers' pain when we hear about article rejections. Enjoy the ice cream. What flavor?
Intro to cOAlitionS proposal says traditional academic publishing is "not keeping up" with how science is performed & shared, adding it's "simply too slow." COVID showed we need "faster and more efficient publishing models." We agree & what about cancer, T2D, HF, rare dis, etc?
At @cOAlitionS_OA we are envisioning a community-based scholarly communication system fit for #OpenScience in the 21st century, based on five principles.

Did you know TheResearchPost accepts publication extenders/data enhancements? Our visual format includes slides & video pub extenders from long-form text papers, clinical pearls or as the primary peer-reviewed publication. We want to work with you. ?s➡️ [email protected]
@science_SRH Could part of the reason for peer-review delays here/in comments be that the typical 3500+ word paper is a heavy lift to review. We are working to build a peer-reviewed channel on a visual format for certain data types to speed the pace & better match today's reading preferences
@HaPhDsupervisor As a start-up peer-reviewed publishing channel on an open-access, visual presentation format, the question on impact factor comes up. All research has value not tied to IF & we let authors/sponsors own data when published. Striving to accelerate pace of med research communication
@ashleydfarley The big players aren't changing their stripes until someone disrupts their market. We want to help & work differently w Gates Foundation & other philanthropic institutions to publish their research in our novel, peer-reviewed publishing channel on a visual presentation format.
Innovators wanted. Authors of peer-reviewed medical articles, let's chat on innovating pubs & how we can help. See how saving ⏰️&💰 & our visual OA format fit your data. A few innovators could meet opportunities, address tradeoffs & make a difference. Get stuff done #phdchat
On avg physicians spend only 90 seconds reading a medical journal article & that paper if pharma supported could take mean >300 hrs (range up to >1100) hrs for medcomm agency to develop, per data @ISMPP2023. Shows oppty to reduce time/cost & develop pubs people can actually read
@chrissyfarr This start-up sees opportunity to accelerate the pace of med research communication & publish in a visual format that better matches how people read & share info today. Data show that, even if no paywall, long-form text papers usually don't get read. We're ready for change
@ashleydfarley This isn't good business practice to treat academic authors and funders like this. For a new peer-reviewed, OA, visual publishing channel that gives authors/funders more control check us out. We'd certainly partner w Gates Foundation to publish your data with low or no APC

Would you rather read a 10 page pdf w 3500 words or the publication enhancement, eg, a 2 minute video or 15 slide presentation? We work to publish quality, peer-reviewed medical data in a visual format, ie, no long-form text needed. Yes, most data fits this "enhancement" format.
Are you a #MedPubs professional or #MedComms specialist? We would love to hear your thoughts!
We’re looking for your experience with barriers to publication enhancements. Share your thoughts on our quick survey here: https://t.co/otRV6suvbf

Open access is only part of the solution. What about timeliness (typical paper takes 15+months) & format of the publication (long-form text doesn't fit today's needs). Start-up @theresearchpost works to speed the pace, ⬇️ $ & advance format thru visual med research communication
@SimonRStones The pharma model w agencies to develop peer-reviewed pubs isn't possible for many patient groups. If patient groups can make data slides, we'll work to get them peer-reviewed & published rapidly in a visual format that better matches how people want to read & share info today.
@emollick@PHLStartupLaw There's lots of interest in AI to make reading academic papers easier. Philly startup @theresearchpost works to publish peer-reviewed med research in a visual format people can actually read & use, slashing time/cost to write a paper (almost) no one wants to read.
@AmyPearlman @marionleary This startup works to address pain points in med publishing-eg time, cost, access & copyright-to publish quality peer-reviewed research faster & in a visual format people can actually use, including pts/caregivers. For authors/sponsors, it's your data, we let you use it as needed
