Henry V was crowned in the Abbey #onthisday in 1413.

The coronation service is depicted in a carving in Henry's chantry chapel in the Abbey. The ornately decorated chapel stands over the king’s tomb at the east end of the church.

The chapel is reached by a spiral stone staircase whose steps are worn by the monks who said prayers here daily for Henry’s soul.
