Valentine’s Day at the RHF Museum is celebrated with an amazing temporary display of the beautifully embroidered cards and presents sent by Walter Rumph during WWI to his beloved Girls. Come in and learn their story through original family objects – you will be really welcome!
The RHF shop celebrates Rabbie Burns with a special window display. Rabbie, an Ayrshire man, was a soldier in the local militia, The Royal Scots Fusiliers formed in 1678, was designated the county regiment of Ayrshire in the Caldwell Reforms of 1881, so virtually one of our own!
Summer Kids’ Club at the Royal Highland Fusiliers Museum on Wednesday ended with a bang with a VE Day Party! Transported back to the 1940s: the kids enjoyed singing, dancing & making bunting! A big thank you to Paige, Willie and everyone involved, well done for a successful club!
There will be a Victory in Japan (VJ) Day Parade at the Veterans Monument, Knightswood, (G13 2QU), on Saturday 14 August 2021, beginning at 11 am – please arrive by c10.40 am. All Veterans are welcome to attend. Followed by refreshments at the Lincoln Inn. Hope to see you all!
Veterans of The RHF took part in the rededication of the Tarbert War Memorial on Loch Fyne on Sat 7 Aug on the centenary of its original dedication in 1921. The memorial commemorates 91 men who gave their lives in WWI & WWII: “Twas for us they died, Keep we their memory green.”

On this day-1858, during the Indian Mutiny, 29 year old Glaswegian, Private George Rodgers of the 71st Highlanders single-handedly attacked a party of 7 rebels, who posed a threat to the regiment, for this courageous action, George was awarded the regiment’s first VC #RHFMuseum
